Yes what this world needs is two extreme opinions on every issue and event recorded in 227 million slightly different ways.

In the pre-social media age I always remember the occasional letter to the editor saying something like "As usual the silent majority has to sit back and bend to the wishes of the vocal minority.

Well now the "silent majority" has Twitter, and look at the result.

Nah, it's still the vocal minority. In June 2015, Australia had 2,791,300 users, or 12% of the population. And not all of these are actively twitting their views. Most users use Twitter as a news feed.

Twitter is not representative of the population. Outside celebraties and other public figures if Twitter was representative the vote in the next election would be 60% Greens, 35% ALP, 5% everyone else.

Not really the point I was making. The fact is that this "silent majority" complained for years they didn't have a voice (not actually true, they have practically the entire mass media on their side), yet when they actually get one via sociial media it turns out they have nothing of any substance to say anyway.

So, trawling around the net the other day and I see this video entitled '5 scariest clips on YouTube' or something like that. This was number 5:

There's something about that laugh...
