Only if you're a believer in the spurious pseudoscience that is "body language".

Dont think its pseudoscience. I know a lot of people go a bit overboard with it these days, thinking they can tell what someone ate for breakfast based on whether their hands are in their pockets or not, but the reality is body language does communicate a lot.

It's not necessarily a pseudoscience, particularly if you are looking from a linguistic and communicative viewpoint.

It communicates a lot based on arbitrary associations between gestures and moods/signals that people seem to have agreed upon en masse based on little to nothing, sure...

I found empire earth to be a very poor mans Rise of Nations. As with just about every other RTS, I completely lose interest once the future stages are reached with the lasers and robots and that rubbish. I always cap the advancement to whatever age I feel like playing to.

Age of empires 3 was a deplorable let down on it's predecessors. It genuinely sucked. I would love to see an AoE4 go back to the roots, but i'm afraid AoE is dead.

I have Rise Of Nations on Steam. All time classic game

As i said, a lot of people these days think they're a lot better at reading it than they actually are, and have made it look like a quack sport, but there's a reason members of the FBI and other law enforcement groups are trained to read body language.

I really love the territory mechanics, and the rare resources etc.

The quick game was as good as the campaign. Also the rule the world campaign. I never played multi-player. I see I've pumped about 84 hours into the Steam version. I would have put that much time into the demo years ago, let alone the original game I got in about 2005
It also has a user friendly editor to make your own maps

Not sure that the FBI using it makes it any kind of science. They also love their polygraphs which are nonsense.

That's not true either.

But there is also a purely physical rationale. Depending on length of ones arms and the comfort of holding them in a certain position.

And that is allowed, hence it not being a pseudoscience. It makes no claims to being a science (except on the fringes) but it is a linguistic and communicative aid and works very well as one.

I have my arms crossed a lot but it's just because I have no idea what else to do with them.
This is true and my Gran always holds hers on her hips (she has massive hips) making her look a bit stern, but she is a very sweet lady, they just feel comfortable there.

You've got no idea whether raman is telling the truth or not....unless you've hijacked his webcam and can see him belting the keys on his keyboard whilst his eyes flickered to the right/down all the while having his arms crossed and his feet in his pocket :p

I've never seen you look like this without a reason
Another promise fallen through, another season passes by you

Shock

I never took the smile away from anybody's face
And that's a desperate way to look for someone who is still a child

In a big campaignerry, dreams stay with you
Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside
Stay alive

I thought that pain and truth were things that really mattered
But you can't stay here with every single hope you had shattered

I'm not expecting to grow flowers in a desert
But I can live and breathe and see the sun in wintertime

In a big campaignerry, dreams stay with you
Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside
Stay alive

In a big campaignerry, dreams stay with you

So that's what that song was about.

Yeah, a lot of people here are arguing that something is a pseudo-science using anecdotal evidence about something they have little knowledge of.

No irony there.

I agree. There is nothing "pseudo" about it (or spurious, for that matter). Body language is a well-studied field with countless papers in academic journals.

e.g. http://science.sciencemag.org/conte...ract?sid=458d65a7-34b5-44a3-b5c9-8bd19863f03e

It it not a deterministic field like Newtonian mechanics, nor is most psychology, but it's science nonetheless.

I'm enjoying Rise of Nations Doctor Feel, good call.

It is as this point of my holidays I wonder if sitting about randomly taking hours out to my day to play games recommended to me by people over the internet is truly making the most of every moment... but **** it.
