Get a bandaid.
Shave off fine slivers of a dry bar of soap onto the sterilised pad of the band aid.
Place the bandaid so that the soap is trapped between the pad and the area that has the shard.
Leave it on over night.
In the morning, your skin will have softened and swollen and the shard should have drawn up close to the surface to remove with tweezers.

Just got back from the doctor, had to get an X-ray to locate it then they cut it open and found two little campaigners in there. All good meow, thanks for the advice.

Anyone else have National Action plaster "No Jap City" posters all over their hood back in the day?

Never got that. Since there weren't any Japanese in my area. Plenty of Vietnamese and Cambodians. But, well...

I guess they just weren't fans of the then thriving Bridgestone plant giving jobs to locals...
When was that?

It could have been a reference to the MFP. There was a lot of anti-Japanese sentiment connected with that but it was the crash of the Japanese economy in the 1990's that eventually killed it.

Nothing quite screams Nationalism like driving a Japanese car.

Saw an Asian dude driving a car with a "Don't Like it Leave" sticker the other day which I imagine would confuse the shit out of the people who normally have these stickers on their cars.

What a way to ruin a perfectly good meat pie

I think you left that in the pantry one week too many

I used to drive past this house regularly with a big US flag waving in the wind in the front yard, and I thought some redneck Yank expat lived there. Then some bloke at the butchers told me a family of indigenous Australians lived there and put up the flag.

Ah the old 'pull up the ladder i'm on board'. In a cab long time ago, driver was Persian, a boat load of
new arrivals is news on the radio. "Send them all back" he says. He'd been here for 8yrs.
Maybe there's not much of a fraternity with new arrivals. Everyone for themselves?

diegodcg sorry to hear you missed out on your UK job and feeling down, happy to have you part of our Port Adelaide family and following our wonderful sport, always look forward to reading your posts.

so...someone has to ask.....I don't suppose you have a Aussie tourist tied up in you basement?, if authorities ask I didn't give you the idea of using a acquired Australian passport so you can apply for a Port jobo_O

:$sorry bad attempt and taste with humour, hoping the Australian tourist turns up safe and diegodcg's abroad dreams are realised

Transmission? Or She's Lost Control?
Transmission for the win.

On a tangential note, I watched a documentary the other week on Anton Corbijn focusing pretty much on the movie he made about Joy Division. Definitely worth watching.

Deconstructed coffee? Really?
Pls don't

ABC tweeted about it like 10 times in 24 hours.

The only take on it:

People love to be outraged at “hipsters”, despite the term not really actually meaning anything. It’s fading a bit now (I thought), but for the last few years people have been genuinely furious at these bearded and moustachioed men riding their fixies around listening to portable record players and showing off their nautical tattoos. Why? Who the **** knows.

Deconstructed coffee? Really?

Surely it's a sign that the apocalypse is nigh.

First it was Frank Walker from national tiles and now "deconstructed coffee" how many seals are needed to be broken for armageddon to start.

When they give me a teapot, milk jug and a sugarbowl, is that deconstructed tea or just tea?

Kane is so skinny!

Wouldn't want him throwing me over his shoulder in a burning building.
