There is a video of a soccer player somewhere, falling over dead from a cardiac arrest but seconds later he jolts back to life, he had defibrillator connected to his heart, it detected an arrest and fired and resuscitated him. IIRC, he only spent a couple of hours in hospital and made it back to the club to celebrate their win.

My dad had one of these but he'd developed anxiety after he retired so was always scared it'd go off when it didn't need to. Wouldn't hold my babies and stopped driving. Overwhelmed him in the end.
