They should turn the site into a vacant lot and then hold endless public debate on its development for about a quarter of a century.

10 bucks down that this is what happens.

Also this was always coming, coke profits are falling because of all the alternatives and people switching off full sugar drinks. Only a matter of time.

Why there was a coke factory in adelaide is anyones guess. Coke was doing SA a favour, but when profits slide - favours are the first to get slashed.

I guess they don't need repainting and don't crack with ground movement which is a big plus, but aesthetic they are not.

I always saw it as a privacy thing. It's like having an outdoor room at the front of your house.

My parents had one at Glenelg and I honestly don't remember them ever having to do anything to it maintenance wise.

There was a coke factory in Darwin....

I will take that 10 Dr. That side of the road is West Torrens council not Adelaide City so no Moran or Parklands preservers.

Another interesting one for the future is opposite the old lecornu at Keswick/Ashford particularly just off Anzac to the west. Get in if you can cos somebody gonna make some dollars. Would be interesting to do an ownership search on it.

Clickers have been around a lot longer than the 80's (assuming you mean 1980's) and I believe they were an English invention. They were originally toy crickets and when I was a kid I remember them mostly being beetles and the like, not frogs.

In WWII the US Airborne used the clickers as a way for paratroopers dropped into Normandy on D-Day to identify friend or foe.

Sorry to interrupt the flow of this thread, back to shitposting people.

That's nice dear.

I referenced the 80's because that's when I was a kid and that's the last time I've seen them around.

It was a licensed franchise type of deal QUF held it until they were bought out by Parmalat in 98 and then it expired and CCA took it back in about 2004.

Coca Cola shutting down Thebarton distribution plant at the end of 2019.

“The review found that further development of our factory at Thebarton in South Australia was constrained its CBD location, site layout, dated infrastructure and expensive logistics,” she said.
Nothing to do with land values there rocketing of course!
