It's been rumoured for years that the reason Macho Man is not in the hall of fame was because he had sex with an underage Stephane McMahon in the early 90's.

Then again, some say it's just a rumour that has gained legs. But no one ever seems to deny it.

Has anyone ever heard anything one way or the other?

I sincerely doubt it. But you never know.

I think, moreso, Savage and Vince probably argued over business, and they've never mended things. I think the rumour is just an example of everybody knowing that Vince hates Savage, and doesn't even like his name brought up in meetings, so that means something like that had to have happened.

But, Vince is a business man, and probably moreso due to that. And the WWE weren't exactly using Savage well at the end of his run, and then we went to WCW.

The thing is, I can't possible believe that Savages non-inclusion in the Hall Of Fame is because of "business" or "contact negotatiations" from 17 years ago. Vince and Bret Hart mended their feud over something far bigger. Vince has shown he will always forigive and forget for the good of the business. He's done it with Hogan and lots of other stars.

It must be something VERY personal. It cant just be "business." Who cares about business/money when it's from 17 years ago?

I reckon there is some truth to it.

OOOHHHH YEAAAAHH!

Or maybe it's the other way around, and Savage is doing a Bruno Samartino and not wanting to be involved with Vince or the WWE product.

I actually think this is true.

I mean, Vince has even offered the Ultimate Warrior a HOF induction ahead of Savage. Something must of happened between the two, if he was going induct Warrior, a guy who has been a thorn in Vinces side for a long time. He even put out the dvd completely burrying him. He is also potentially doing a wcw themed HOF this year, surely Savage deserves in before Goldberg, Luger etc.

Also didnt Macho make mention of this in one of his terrible songs? I'm sure I heard him mention something along the lines of 'Triple H, ill show your wife what it's like to be with a real man again' Actually, I think its a youtube video of Savage in a gym calling out Hogan.

Then again, he could have only mentioned it because Im sure he gets asked about it.

It could very well be true, but if it was, someone other than the parties involved would have said something about it now. I think JR strongly denied it once and said it was just a business issue. But you never know.

Savage looks like Santa Claus these days... and I agree with an above poster in that to burn a bridge with Vince would take something monumental.

If the sex rumour is true, why hasn't Savage ever been charged with "statutory rape"? I think it is just a rumour.

I think another rumour I heard makes more sense. Savage was demoted to being a commentator in his last years in WWE. Savage still wanted to wrestle, but Vince thought otherwise. He gave Savage an exception at WMX, because he was fighting Crush, a neighbour and friend of Savage's, and Vince knew that Savage could carry the "otherwise-useless" Crush to a decent match. Other than that, Savage was rarely used in the ring.

As a result, WCW came calling, and offered him a contract, which allowed him to wrestle on a regular basis. So, he took WCW's offer, and jumped without telling Vince. So, it sounds like they had a professional "falling-out" over how Savage was used in WWE.

You know, maybe Savage is the one who won't work for WWE. Maybe Vince has extended the olive-branch, but Savage hit it away. Savage has never forgiven Hulk Hogan either for various things, so maybe he carries a similar grudge against Vince.

Besides, Vince putting Hart in the H-O-F was , at the time, a cynical exercise to say "Hey, Bret's the one who has the problem, not me". It was also to trick Bret into appearing in WWE. Something, Bret vowed he would never do (and obviously reneged on four years later). So, I don't think when Bret was put in, it was because Vince didn't hold a grudge. Bret did deserve H-O-F, but I don't think Vince's motives for doing it were purely ultruistic.

They key is this Hogan and Vince haven't gotten along for years (since the steroid trial). But Hogan came back because it was good business for WWE to get Hulk Hogan (the brand) back on TV. And they continue to bring him back for that reason.

But that doesn't mean he and Vince are as tight as they once were.

And let it be known that Vince has not allowed other people to come back after being stabbed in that back. Jarrett is an example. When WCW was bought out, Jarrett got a big "**** you" from WWE IIRC.

It's an interesting one. The original post in the DVDVR sleaze thread said he had his way with a "14 year old" Stephanie in "94/95". Stephanie turned 18 in September 94 and Savage left around December that year, so it sort of loses a fair bit of credibility right there. Over the years it has changed around so much that now no one even speculates on the age, just that she was under 18.

Also worth noting that Vince gave Savage a very fond farewell. I can't think of anyone else who he actually gave a little speech about after their leaving, especialy when they walked straight in to WCW.

And lets not forget they had negotiations to bring Savage back in 96 and 99. Which also says something about the "Vince not working with him because he went to WCW" angle.

Interesting to ponder, but I don't think there's much in it. I think Savage is closer to Bruno than Benoit on the WWE shit list, for whatever reason.

I guess one possibility is that it is false, but Vince beleives it anyway. Like I said, he gave Savage a fond farewell which leads me to belive it wasn't the reason he left, and they were willing to work with him for many years after, so maybe it's a case of Vince hearing it so often that he now thinks it's the case.

Savage did release a legendary album:

Bruno Sammartino ??
Didnt know he was shit-listed

I thought this was pretty well known  WWE have extended invitations to him to be a part of the company again (specifically be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and be on the Legends payroll in some capacity), but Bruno has declined. He doesn't like Vince and doesn't like the product WWE is putting out, and chooses not to be involved.

As I mentioned earlier, it's entirely possible that Savage is "doing a Bruno" and choosing not to be a part of WWE, but nobody even considers that.

Savaga hasn't exactly been a moral beacon over the years so I doubt it has anything to do with him not wanting to be associated with the show

You didn't think there was something going on when a guy who held the title for nearly nine years across two runs wasn't in the Hall of Fame?

I have no idea why Bob Backlund isn't though.

And so are the days of our lives.

You guys really buy this male soap opera shit?

Not sure what you mean by this.

You do realise these are non-storyline related rumours (i.e. backstage stuff).

Personally I think it's BS.
