Chapman above all else. I remember many of us being like "wtf Chapman is still there" after we cleared out Sando and Trigg.

Absolute mainstay of mediocrity. I hear people say "but Chappy was great when Walsh was murdered".

Yeah but literally any campaigner can appear great in a tragedy. People are distraught and looking for anything. Even George W Bush comes across statesmanlike in a tragedy.

Chapman is a leg iron on this club and has been for years with his matesy fence sitting diplomacy

Marty36 thinks our list is crap and not capable of winning a flag

So why doesnt the poll reflect this

probably because posters overrate our list
Marty36 is clearly wrong. The list made a grand final. If they didn't do the whole wilting violets thing under the spotlight they would've won.

The list is there. The culture and the med/fitness staff aren't.

In reality the board members should be wanting everyone’s heads, how can they be happy that this sort of shit is going on?
It was obvious our injury management would get worse as soon as Burton & Haas was hired, a simple google search could see that they failed in their past roles at Brisbane.
They've all got each other's back and mates looking after mates.
And we keep bringing in more mates.
Huge part of the problem.

Pyke stays but I'm amazed he allowed this shit show to occur. Ultimately, he will be the one who pays the price first.

Wouldn't be the first coach screwed over by poor administration

Hard to say how much control Pyke would have had on this situation. Does he report to Burton, do they co-exist or does Burton report to him?

Mind you this is going to be an interesting off season. Second time in Pykes tenure we truly see if he has it as a coach (first was the losing streak last season seeing we were looking worked out during that, with the whole Sloane is Adelaide thing going on; Grand Final i'm not too harsh on currently but I may get harsher if he shows no signs of dealing with this).

Can anyone think of someone capable of coming into the club and sort this shit out?
I’m all for having heads roll over this but we also need competent people to replace them.

Blight, Balme, Clarkson & that Jesus fellow I spose.
Balme would be nice but wouldn’t leave Vic.

Get rid of Haas, Burton, Clarke, Campo, Hart. Others on notice next season.

We need a strong head of football. Peter Sumich? Pyke might have some sway there. Or if Richardson gets sacked he’d have to be an option.

The board is the root of our problem

Yep, couldn't have gotten a worse board to be granted lifetime self renewal. Straight out of the Trigg debacle and bang, hiw about you guys get the gift of perpetual control. And here is the result, implosion. But I'm sure they'll be brutal when they assess their own performance at renewal time.

I've avoided returning to my drunken Fagan Fraud thread since waking up and realising that I started it. Starting to think it might not be so embarrassing. Most of the Dmac threads I started in not dissimilar circumstances weren't too bad.

I may have been a part in taking it rather off topic

Please add Smart to the poll. I'm not sure what he does but he's part of the bad smell emanating from the club.

Burton needs to go now. Not at the end of the year, not when a suitable job comes up for him. Now.

Whoever is in charge of our SANFL setup (if it's not Burton) also needs to be shown the door.

Performance manage the shit out of Haas and the assistant coaches.
Smart should've been blasted into the sun when he referred to us as "customers".

Supposedly we interviewed Sumich once before and didn't want to give him the power he requested. Might have been a bit of worry that he'd cause a bit of unrest and make some comfortable people a bit worried?

Smart should've been blasted into the sun when he referred to us as "customers".

The thing that gets me about "customers" is that not only is it insulting, but it's not even correct. Yet it is a 100% accurate portrayal of how the club sees us.

I am a "customer" of woolworths when I grocery shop there. However I don't give a shit about Woolworths, I don't care if they open new stores in other suburbs and I don't care if they make a profit or loss.

A fan in sport is far more invested in their club than any customer could ever possibly be.

I honestly think the AFC does just want us to be customers. They want us to pay our money to gain a product, watching the team play football. They don't want us to question what they do, they don't want us to have an opinion, they don't want us to have a voice.

But there is one thing they fundamentally misunderstand. If we were just football customers, rather than fans, we wouldn't be buying our product from the AFC because that product is, quite frankly, substandard.

We'd be buying the products of a club like Hawthorn, Sydney, Geelong or even the Eagles. Clubs that sell not just success but resilience in the face of adversity, a willingness to make hard decisions, a determination to not just be good enough but to be the best.

If football clubs were products then those teams I just named are the Cokes, we are Pepsi and Port are the homebrand crap. We are kind of okish, we taste like carbonated piss compared to coke but at least we're not that port stuff that mixes battery acid in with the piss.

If this club isn't careful I'm going to start acting like a customer and go elsewhere because I'm not satisfied with the quality of the goods I've been provided. I can't stomach the idea of jumping to another AFL team, but I can invest my time instead in local competitions.
