Uhh, that's 16 units.. its impossible to fit them all into a timetable because at least 2 of the subjects are on the same lines & you won't be able to get the prerequisite 200 hours for each subject (100 for extensions). The only way you would be able to get 16 units (with only 2 extensions) is if you did 2 outside of school. Is this the case?

If so, with your extensions, I would highly, highly recommend you to keep your best 12 subjects, unless you enjoy everything extremely.

Have 14 units maximum in Year 11, otherwise you will go completely crazy (I went crazy with 14 and dropped down to 10).

If you hate the 18th, 19th, 20th an 21st Centuries & you hate political history, you will despise both Modern and Ancient. Again, if this is the case I'd recommend against doing any type of history. What major essay are you talking about? History Extension requires you to do a HIP worth about 2500 words. In most schools, you aren't able to do anything that is related to the syllabus.

There's no major essay in either modern or ancient, but you have several essays and source analyses. But this is another unit to your 16 which is already impossible.

I dont know I thought that was...

Okay thanks yeh I went to subject selection I wanted 16 units then drop the ones I dont like.

No way, cause i LOVE english tudor, european history around that time, I read like fat books about it and it intresets me soo much. but its in modern.. so i dont kno if its worth it.
if not Ill do ancient
i love history. just not recent history.

I don't think there are any options for the tudor era in Modern.

WWI core is self explanatory, earliest National study is Russia & the Soviet Union in 1917, earliest Personality is in 1872, earliest International Study 1945.

Nothing comes close to English Tudor in Ancient.

You'd only be able to explore Tudor England in History Extension (picked up in Y12) and even then only if you have a history.

I undertook 13 units in Year 12 and I thought that was pretty silly in hindsight. Just don't go overboard.

Vonn, it also depends what you'd like to do in uni as well.
I realised the futility of anything other than 10 or 11 units, and so I dropped down to 10. SO much more manageable.

Wait so which history is it that does Tudor in Extension in yr 12, Modern or Ancient?

Wait but you just said.. Okay I am so confused I'll just ask the head tomorrow haha.

His a swans supporter.
We always have indepth discussions haha.

You can do anything you want in history extension, but you have to do either history to do history extension. neither modern or ancient do tudor england, but if you want to do it, you can do history extension and write a major work essay.

yeh it's not exactly group work but it ended up working out for us cause we got full marks in both so im absolutely stoked with that.

Still absolutely despising acct. no good at it, hate it and no interest in it and i may hav to do it again next semester cause i am just that bad at it!

doing pretty well in the others so that's all good but yeh i hate acct so much. i reckon i'm gonna major in economics so that work load doesnt sound good but im gonna find macro better if HSC sconomics was any indication, so i reckon economics will be the best option for my major.

yeh ive enrolled for my 2nd semster, doing macro, acct 1b, qmb and marketing as my option. though as i said there is a good chance ill be redoing acct 1a next semester unfortunately.

what u doing next semester and how's it all going for u at uni?

Whatever floats your boat. Sounds like you enjoy economics. Although it may sound obvious and stupid but you really should study the major your enjoy. Trust me. Once the work load piles, you either want to study because you enjoy the topic, or you don't want to study and lose the motivation to study.

I doubt you'll fail accounting. How did you go in your midsem and perdisco? If you're passing then that's good enough! :)

And I'll be studying Accounting 2B, Marketing and Distribution Law, Information on Symbols and Languages (a gen ed - weird I know) and Business Ethics. I have decided to major in Business Law instead of Finance. Finance can go and die. I hate it so much that I don't want to study for the finance final exam.

How are your exams coming along? When do you finish?

And I'll be studying Accounting 2B

Good luck!! I probably don't need to remind you but it's the toughest of the accounting subjects, particularly consolidation/tax effect accounting. I'm not even sure I could do it if I had to take the subject again now...

Otherwise I think Business Law is a good choice for a second major, it sharpens up your reasoning/writing skills and a much better option if you're not into Finance (which I wasn't)

Gah all this talk about economics and accounting and finance and business! I'm so glad I left all that stuff behind :D

I have an exam tomorrow, and another one on Tuesday and my last one on Friday. Then 4 weeks of clinical!

all finished yesterday!!

went with some mates to Bondi Junction for lunch and to see The Hangover, which is the funniest movie i have seen in so long. Everyone has to see it!

OMG! I am not looking forward to consolidation. I've heard horrible stories about it. I really don't want to suffer.

GAHHH TAX! I HATE TAX! I rather just do journal entries, debit and credit my way to a degree...

And yes, I think Business Law is most probably the smartest decision I've made Sam. I am glad I am leaving finance behind because I just HATE it so much!!!

Yup, and now that I'm getting better & better with Chem, I'm actually quite positive about what my UAI might be.

What ATAR do you think you could potentially get? You can't get 100 anymore!!!

I think I could get ~90 the way I'm going now, because I've got EE2. It'll be my make or break. I'm doing fairly well in Modern, English and EE1 as well. Maths I'm doing fine, but if (when) I study I do much better. 2U is easy.

I want to aim for 97, but its pretty far away. Everyone seems to think its possible though, so I might try for that.
