The media, just about to a man/woman, has defended the Essendon players throughout the saga! There has been a consensus that the players are "victims".

This is a naive and simplistic view - The constant stories in the media have convinced Joe and Mary Public that the players are as guilty as hell - And this carries onto the players daily lives where they are often harassed in public - The media's defending of Essendon players, has been lost in all the other stories, involving the saga.

I look at the Kyrgios situation - The media relentessly bullied Kyrgios which is part of their modus operandi - The media can be bullies whther directly or indirectly.

The point the caller was making was that both Ryder and Crameri are both in the same situation as the Essendon players and yet were playing ok.

No comparison between Goodes situation and Essendon players.

The facts quoted by the caller are wrong - Crameri was dropped to the VFL for three weeks, Monfries has been dropped twice and Ryder's form has been average. But according to the misguided caller they were all in ripping form - The SEN caller like many watches little footy - Anyway let them embarrass themselves.

That's a cop out, given that they would all have Foxtel, with which they have the ability to record major games/events.

They get paid to talk sport - the least they could do is a bit of research to at least make sure they are on top of all of the major news/events/facts.

I'm no fan of Harford but I get the impression that he at least tries to do so. Allen comes across as if he couldn't care less about anything other than golf and footy.

You are spot on with your post - Too many sporting presenters/experts take money under false pretences - From Robert Shaw who has a one hour show with Fine on Sunday mornings - Somehow he can give expert commentary without watching all five games - Surely if you are on any review program its incumbent on you to watch all the games.

Anyway Watson later topped himself by defending claims of racism saying 'I'm not racist, i see Kyrgios as an Australian, people who are calling me racist are racist'. . .
