I've said this before, but Patrick Smith had a grouse argument years ago on 774 with former umpire Peter Cameron. :p

For a while during the '90s in footy media, when ever there was talk about umpiring problems, Cameron was the go-to guy for an opinion, because people like BT pumped him up as being a great umpire, and that back in his day, things were "much better." So he was apparently seen as the all-knowing authority on how footy should be umpired.

So, one day, Cameron was on the phone on 774 talking to Smith and the other ABC guys (it might've been Time Lane). Cameron said something a little silly (I can't remember what, unfortunately), and Patrick suddenly went off and took him to task, saying stuff like, "what? What did you just say? Are you serious? Can you repeat that? That's outrageous!" Ya know, like we've heard many times since.

Well, ya shoulda heard the indignation from Peter Cameron. He was having conniptions, saying, "who is this? Who am I talking too!?! *harumph, harumph* " :D He was shocked that someone DARED question him.

He has given me the shits a lot of times but lets face it - sometimes he is on the money and if there are two more worthy gooses of the year than those two arseholes I'll go hee! I would love Rebbecca to expose herself to talkback one day - it would be a massacre
 
I feel a tad emotional listening to Harf Time and The Run Home today.

It's like saying goodbye to a mate forever and saying goodbye to old schoolmates.

Yeah I get that, especially with The Run Home. I really think the Ox makes the show, so I'm excited he'll be on in the mornings.

That guy from the university analysing the media on KBs show? It's funny having him award a bad media performer when he's pretty ordinary himself.

Ox being on TRH for 9-10 years? He's pretty lucky, and I suspect he has some influence at SEN. while he might not grate on you like other idiots that appear on the station. He's not really a hugely great personality/performer to have such a lengthy stint on a prime slot.

Ox and leach wouldn't need Watson on breakfast in a similar way the two Andy's do?

Are there any clue as to what the station is going to produce next year?

He sounds like he knows what he is talking about until he nominates his media performer of the week, usually just some politically correct nomination I rarely agree with.

Actually Nathan Buckley is a good media performer in a kind of cynical way - he gives the media what they want so they love him. My nomination would be someone who scores points off the media but I doubt that's what Dave Lowden is looking for ;)
 
I thought he might be this time......until he was talking about the weather they were getting "down there" They were certainly trying to give the impression he was, but he slipped up.

If he really was there, he would've said "here"

Which is why he should be sacked for repeatedly stumbling over his words, his poor timing when being thrown to for updates and all that.

Surely there's someone more competent than him.
