Re: The SEN Thread 2

I missed MG this morning. Anyone able to tell me what Andy and Tim had to say about their favourite event, the GP? Or did they continue on their campaign to only speak ill of the event.

Or did they completely ignore it and just discuss AFL and continue to discuss Libba and Wayne Carey?

I didn't hear the whole show, but I heard a little of them talking about it. I heard Andy say he only watched the start of the race. Billy watched it all. Not sure on Tim, but I'd bet he only saw the highlights cause he would have presented them on Seven news.

There was huge interest in it yesterday and pretty poor for Andy and Tim to talk it down and show little interest, cause they've already laid their cards on the table.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Pickers picked him up on a few things. Hutchy referred to the Libba story as the biggest story all week. Pickers pointed out the interview was only aired on Thursday night.

Of course Hutchy will claim his story is the biggest of the week.Funny how Libba has now backed down from this so called big story.

BTW,poor Hutchy's biggest story got out done the next day with the 2 druggies that got $180,000 to tell us what was fairly obvious.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Someone tell Mark Snoran that Steve Bracks isn't the Premier anymore, before he interviews him later.
Looks like someone finally told him. Should get Rita to pick on him like she did with the Meter Maid.

Not quite in tune with whats happening in the world this man.

Suggested Wayne Carey not answer questions that were asked by New Idea too. Don't think they would pay him and have him not say anything.

If current and ex footballers were smart, they would refuse to talk to Hutchy. With his role on TFS, he has to find some sort of exclusive and breaking news so a good chance your interview will be exploited and like crazy.

With all due respect MBP, the talkback callers often drive the subject matter on SEN.

If nobody is calling about the Grand Prix race itself (which seems to be the case) that would indicate to me that there isn't much interest in it.

That's not exactly what I meant.

They talked about it a little, but mainly in negative terms.

Not everyone likes the GP or even has to, but I'd guess that a lot of their listeners were into it.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

having watched the whole GP for the first time on telly,it is crap.it's like having a melbourne cup where only 6 horses finish.
the one thing about the melb. cup carnival is,not one dollar of our money is put into it not like the GP which costs us 40 million.
tony schbecki likes it on sen,but theres not much other support for it.in fact it shouldn't even be talked about on sen as it really isn't sport.leave it to neil mitchell on 3aw as he loves to suck up to walker

How do you know Tim and Andy were advising the producers to keep those wanting to call about the GP off-air? Admittedly it wasn't the most exciting race but the politics surrounding the race seems to have overshadowed everything.

What about all the punters that lose money? ;)

Re: The SEN Thread 2

So, what you are really suggesting is, that if I DON'T have the same opinion as you, then I shouldn't post on this thread, because it is for, what was it you said? ah yes, critiquing......Now, a while ago,I posted that I loved B in USA with Steve + Mark......no criticism from you then on my post, or did you agree with me?? Ah see, its YOU who doesn't like a different opinion....thats the crux of the matter!!.......go crawl in your little hole, you twerp!! .... and just accept that others might differ in opinion....actually, I wasn't even differing, only curious is all....but hey, what does it matter...By the way, my angst is o.k. and so is my blood pressure, thanks for your thoughts to that regard....:)....cheers..

Clueless. You're just never going to get it. Actually quite sad - like the strange grammar. I accept your apology on the racism rant, too. Not much else to add. To the Ignore list with you. The end!

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Andy Maher might be on to something.

Said he watched the Melbourne Storm last night and doesn't know why everyone's talking so much about Israel Folau, cause there's this other bloke who plays for them who's much better. Said his name is Cameron Smith and can play.

Seriously, the ability of some of the SEN guys to chat about Rugby League is dead set shocking. Mark Snoran's interview with Craig Bellamy yesterday was pure cringe.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Too much Hutchy on SEN nowadays! Have they got him replacing Sandy Roberts during the Run Home? Although I thought Sandy's two little segments were redundant since we know what happened at the 5pm news update, I rather have him telling us what's on than Hutchy.

He didn't even know the name of 4pm-7pm show. Called it "Drive"

Re: The SEN Thread 2

yes he was on mg today. i turned off

The thing that annoys me about him the most is how he always defends his scummy stories by saying "its in the public interest".

I'm sure society is better off knowing how many peanuts Ben Cousins eats on his plane trips to LA.

Even though Libba is a bit of a ..., when he was on SEN to defend himself, he said he wasn't totally into doing the interview but Hutchy convinced him by saying it'll be a good thing. People need to smarten up and not talk to this person as it's his role on TFS to find something worth "breaking".

agree, libba did come across as very ignorant but hutchy is like a pitbull when he see an easy target. he doesn't seem to care that what he is doing will suck his target in and probably have consequences for that person because of their naivety/stupidity/ignorance or whatever. then he rolls out the old "in the publics interest" line to make him appear to be only the messenger and not some sort of machiavellian manipulator that he is.
people should be smarter than this but unfortunately get sucked in by him and his constant "i'm with you" head nodding and puppy dog sympathy eyes and "we'll tell the public what it was really like" fake empathy.
libba will never get a job in any other league higher than suburban football now. hutchy, in effect, has ruined any chance libba has got of furthering his career. fwiw, i initially thought libba was very dopey for getting sucked in like this but pricks like hutchy exist in all walks of society.

I didn't actually hear this interview yesterday, but I heard a little clip just then of Snoran talking to John Brumby.

Calling Steve Bracks the current premier is one thing, but calling John Brumby, Steve Bracks is another...

Hopefully he worked out who he was talking to eventually.

It depends how you see it.

Some are in the public interest and some are not.

Same when they do Basketball stories.

I remember Billy interviewing Al Westover a few years ago ..."So, you have an interesting starting line-up here with Stiff, Hoare, Cox"

Al was laughing with embaressment.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

What forum is he bagging him on? That's not on, Finey's good value on SEN. As to Hutchy, he is a knob. I met him once when I was about 16 and I asked him what should I do to get into the sports journalism industry and he brushed me off saying to do something else. Wasn't a great experience.
