The Simpsons have always used a lot of stereotypes when visiting other places, Japan, Ireland, England, South America, France, China they were all the same it just sticks out a bit more when its our own stereotypes they're joking about. I'm sure a lot of French people groaned about The Crepes of Wrath in the first season but I still think its one of the better early episodes.

"First you didn't want me to get it, now you want me to take it back, make up your mind!"

Lisa's Pony is a good one.

Wish we still had episodes like this - either on The Simpsons or otherwise. Father might be a buffoon but means well and always did his best for his daughter.

Cadaver You should score each episode /10

If its your first time watching then I think it is a unique perspective because you won't have a baseline to compare to.

It would also be interesting to see his highlights so far.

Watched When Flanders Failed last night with the mrs. A great episode considering how early on it was.

Lisa: Dad, do you know what Schadenfreude is?
Homer: No, I don't know what "shaden-frawde" is.
Homer: Please tell me, because I'm dying to know.
Lisa: It's a German term for "shameful joy", taking pleasure in the suffering of others.
Homer: Oh, come on Lisa. I'm just glad to see him fall flat on his butt!
Homer: He's usually all happy and comfortable, and surrounded by loved ones, and it makes me feel... What's the opposite of that shameful joy thing of yours?
Lisa: Sour grapes.
Homer: Boy, those Germans have a word for everything!

Very underrated exchange.

And the IRS exchange. "Heh... we don't make mistakes." (After showing up to the wrong house)

Another great line from this ep:

Homer: Hello, Jerry? Homer Simpson. Remember last month when I paid back that loan? Well now I need YOU to do a favour for ME.

One of those that took me years to fully appreciate.
Not seen this episode in years, and it would have gone over my head as a kid. I pissed myself last night when I heard it.

I guess now that the voice of Minnie Mouse has passed away, we'll either be looking for new voice actor(s) for Martin Prince, Sherri & Terri, or write them out altogether.

I know it's not going to happen any time soon but it might be time to finally end The Simpsons.

'Mr. Simpson, this government computer can process over nine tax returns per
day. Did you really think you could fool it?'
