“There’s some great signs of leadership by him and many others, and if the team’s going to go somewhere, that’s what’s required,” Harvey said.

Asked whether today would help the club in retaining South Australian Pavlich, who is coming off contract at the end of the season and is the target of both Adelaide clubs, Harvey answered: “It certainly helps, yeah.”

“I’ve got to be careful how I answer this. I think Matthew … will make the right decisions for the Fremantle Football Club. Has he already? Not yet. I’m confident he will.”

Can i ask why you are calling him this? Everytime i see it i expect to be reading about John Worsfold.

because he undermined connolly.

and then played on saturday with a smile.

Seriously? Seems a bit harsh. Have you proof of this and even if you did are you saying the captain of a football team has no right to an opinion on the coach? They must just blindly follow even if they think it is detrimental to the long term future of the club?

That is an interesting opinion.

The name "Smiling Assassin" is a trademark of the John Worsfold corporation.

This has been a community service announcement.

Brad Johnson has been known as the smiling assassin since early in his career. I never heard of Worsfold being called this. Either has anyone else over this way, as this has already been argued on another thread a few months back.

John Worsfold is the Smiling Assassin, case closed, has been called it long before Johnson even began his career.

And you have already conceded you "make shit up" and you "like to be contoversial".

So get a clue. :thumbsd:

this is a forum of OPINION not fact.

you have made no secret that you adore pavlich. but i did notice a slight waiver in your faith last week.

i am only commenting on what i saw. a guy who didn't give a shit against north melbourne. and then a guy who played and CAPTAINED like a man possessed in adelaide.

you do the 'maths'. i am not the first to suggest that pav didn't want connolly around.

there is no i in team. but there is an i in pavlich.

oh the drama.

There is opinion, and there is fantasy. There is also a press quote by Chris Connolly saying Pavlich had the flu against North Melbourne and nearly didn't play.

I like the way you can add 1 and 1 and get Pi. I wouldn't have an issue with a comment on Pavlich based on what you saw. However, we all know you didn't see Harvey undermine Connolly.

f you feel you need to keep peeing to windward don't let us get in the way.

Just because you Western Australians called him that doesnt mean the rest of the country call Johnno that

Darl, we are just establishing that the term was applied to whoosha first, does not really matter who called him that, it was used to describe him before Johnson. Case closed.

Woosha got tagged with that name for his contrasting personalities on and off the field, often described as a mild mannered nice guy off the field and obviously a hard man on it. 'Smiling Assassin' at least works with Woosh because he would 'take people out' like an assassin. Johnson gets it because he's always got that grin on his face, I suppose he can be 'The Grinning Undersized Full Forward'. ;):thumbsu:

You musn't have been a footy fan for long. I can assure you the woosha has been known as "The Smiling Assassin" for a very long time.

Brad Johnson does smile alot though...:):D:):D

yeah he did, he had a tendency to have a very big grin when he had just knocked down a mouthy victorian, not that there are many of them or anything.

Many many years ago I seem to remember reading or hearing about a massive hit he layed on Brereton at Subi. He must've had a smile on his face then.
