...Bellerive is going to be sold off and bulldozed for housing, hate to break it to ya.

Cricket Tas are moving to a new base. Macquarie Point will be the state's only option for BBL and international cricket.

York Park hosts cricket matches, 15,000 seats and no roof.

Safe bet cricket will never be back, now that it's under the Stadiums Tasmania umbrella.

More likely: York Park's Devils games will be reduced from 4 to 2 after a few years, once everybody realises how much better MacPoint is.

Clarence are the biggest football club in Tasmania per participation. Remember the team is predicated on giving our young people hope?

If the ground stays then I have no issue with what you say. You could play first class shield on the TCA again due to the lack of crowd.

Really?

You know what CA think, and York Park will lose games?

OK so what are this week's lotto numbers Nostradamus.

It's kind of funny you mostly seem to comment on the Tasmanian team boards and not North Melbourne much, as you profess to support.

And you seem to know so much about us here in Tasmania for someone who lives in Melbourne.

Your posting history is an uninteresting read of failed trolling.

;)

Incumbent govts rarely win in this circumstance, and Labor would probably end up needing cross benchers or the Greens who are generally opposed to the stadium. Labor can say they support it but it means nothing when they're pulling reckless shit like this. The ****ing stupid politics around this never ends.

Drives me nuts.
I never thought Winter would be the one essentially blowing this.
These political fools are going to ruin what's taken decades to finally happen. They will be killing a dream and making this state an absolute embarrassment.
Shame on these f##kwits if they blow this. Bloody shame on them.

We're already an embarrassment with how much stupid bloody self interested politicking had gone into this but this is just the nail on the coffin. Who in their right mind would invest down here? Or try and do anything innovative and progressive.

If this falls over from this bullshit we deserve our fate. A retirement village for boomers perpetually stuck in the 70s.

Plenty needs to go wrong for us to lose this yet, but what a stupid move by Labor.
Thinking about this overnight I reckon you're correct. There's a couple of different scenarios that can play out yet.
Winter genuinely seems to want stadium. Maybe he's put in place to get Rockliff out but ensured the stadium will get through by some behind doors negotiations.
Who knows with these politicians.
My head hurts thinking about it lol.

I'm not trying to be alarmist but read the tweets by Chris Rowbottom. Even if Labor (or Liberal) win an outright majority in an early election, the delay to the stadium would be another 6+ months which would be enough to void the license agreement. Clubs and the AFL are sick of us stuffing around and in no mood to negotiate an extension.

Honestly if our state is stupid enough to let this team die because of petty politics, we won't deserve one.

Yep. An election is very last thing we need.

There's a faint glimmer of hope there in that Rowbottom interview that Labor has just overplayed their hand here and didn't expect this to actually have the numbers, and Winter might back out when the implications are laid bare. Which would be INCREDIBLY ****ing stupid but par for the course for Tassie politics.

Fingers crossed this is the case and his ego doesn't prevent him from doing the right thing.
