No room for Garland? No room for ANYONE we pick up in the next 4 years? Big call...
Also, how old is Jamar now? He'd be mid 30's by 2016 I'd have thought

He said 5 weeks not years.

Yeah we need Garland in there, Bail might be right too.

If both are fit, i agree with both these CA.

Im worried about Garland, hope the reports are right, any injury around the foot has me worried.

Bail has been great all year. Loved his work.

What scares me greatly is that i put Newton in there. Pretty sad state of affairs we have when i create a team of unproven youngsters who have to get a go (so we can see where they are at) and 'hard' players. Newton's first ten minutes in the forward line against Norf left me gob-smacked. Where has that intestity been 99% of his career? Wish i could have seen him play the whole game there. Dunn should have been thrown into the ruck instead.

Will never, happen but anyway:

B: Bartram T.McDonald Strauss
HB: Blease Frawley Tapscott
C: Sylvia McKenzie Trengove
HF: Dunn Watts Newton (FFS!!)
F: Maric Jurrah Pettard
R: Jamar Moloney Scully

INT: Gawn, Evans, Nicholson, Gysberts

Rude, I am with you on no Davey, no Bennell and no Aussie. I think that we probably need to include the Captain in the side, but again, I agree with your sentiments... We need players that are prepared to run both ways, not just ahead of the ball to get cheap kicks.

I'd like to see:
B: Bartram Warnock Frawley
HB: Tapscott Garland Bail
C: Jones Moloney Gysberts
HF: Sylvia Watts Maric
F: Petterd Jurrah Green
R: Jamar Scully Trengove
IC: Martin McKenzie Bate Blease

B: Bartram Frawley Strauss
HB: Bail Garland Tapscott
C: Sylvia McKenzie Trengove
HF: Dunn Watts Davey
F: Maric Jurrah Petterd
R: Jamar Moloney Scully

INT: Martin, Morton Gysberts Bennell

Pretty boring. But I reckon that will be our best fit group. Really want to see Norton stick his head up, and start dominating some contests. Trent Cotchin is doing it from 2007, Rioli has been doing it since the word go.

Are people deliberately omitting Green?! I know he's playing shit but it would be a BIG call to drop him... where to from there? Would we appoint a new captain? I'd love to see them appoint a new captain next year from the young brigade, an official changing of the guard.

B: Bartram Frawley Rivers
HB: Tapscott Garland Bail
C: Jones Moloney Davey
HF: Sylvia Watts Maric
F: Petterd Jurrah Green
R: Jamar Scully Trengove
IC: Martin McKenzie Gysberts Blease

No surprises there really... I wanted Gawn there but I like Martin as well.

I think if he was in the Geelong team of the last five years or West Coast circa 05-06 with the delivery they had from their midfields, he could average 3-4 goals a game. He has arrived exactly the wrong time to be part of the MFC forward line & his VFL form shows that with the right amount of freedom & delivery he is a solid player. If Lynch, Hansen, Mooney & Hawkins can be made to look good at times, then I imagine what they could have done for Juice?

We may not ever see it at AFL level but when he was part of successful VFL teams he has been a good forward for them too.

As for playing the whole game there I have been saying the exact same thing since the end of the first quarter, "why didn't they leave him there?" He can't be dropped on that performance because it was the coaches that chose to change his game for him & it suffered as a result.

We wouldn't beat a team in the AFL with that line up.

I would love to see Strauss, Gawn, Blease and Howe get a some games this year, on merit of course.

Blease and Gawn are big chances to come in this week imo, Blease to replace Bails pace and Gawn to support Martin

Mckenzie also should be considered

I think we have reached the stage where we are going a little over the top. Sure, I'd love to play the kids, but we've been doing that for a long time now. It's time we stepped up to the plate and made that push for the finals we know we are capable of.

While in some ways I agree that we need to get games into some of the young fellas, I think we can do this by blooding one here and one there and they can learn their trade around some more experienced bodies.

I'd like to see that line up in Round 22 if we can't make finals. Still a lot of the year left.

No captain? He is the reigning B&F winner and he starts slowly to the year and gets dropped?
Geez posts like this show that you have no idea how a football club works.

The funny thing is that if we did end up playing that side and getting smashed (which would obviously happen), the same people who made the initial suggestion to pack the team with youth would be back on bigfooty slamming the team and calling for Bailey's contract to be terminated immediately.

Four possible sides had a forward line combination of Dunn, Watts, Newton, Maric, Jurrah, Petterd, Sylvia, Green & Davey.

Everyone of those side looks top heavy, other than Davey in 1 team no other crumbing forward among them. I know most had Maric, but he's not a huge crumber & will spend time in the middle. No one even has one on the bench.

Melbourne has always need a crumbing forward & that's not going to change now.

Lawrence looked good on the weekend. Best game he's possibly played thus far. Could be a chance to play that crumbing forward in the future. Has a lot of pace which I hadn't seen much of from him, but he really showed it on the weekend. Edie Betts like in the way he moves, so hopefully he can keep working hard and we could certainly look at promoting him onto our list down the line.

Davey still seems to me like the perfect fit for that crumbing role. I know he's important running through the midfield, but Maric, Bennell, Wona simply don't work hard enough to create pressure. Davey can. At least this way he can help the team out, because he's been useless this season.
