Only needed the two boys to beat them:Krul and Remy got the job done.
Thought Williamson was very strong and Cabaye knocked out some terrific balls,Gouffran is a committed team man who never stopped.Even that freaky looking frog from Man U who was subbed on in the last 10 for Remy did some good things.
As you suggest a very gettable 6pts from the next two games and the season is shaping up way better than I would have dared wish for a few short weeks ago.
Be an easy Monday at work tomorrow!

Very true scon!

Krul - 14 saves, some of them of the highest order, the most by any keeper this season in a game.
Gouf - really starting to remind me of Lovenkrands. Always puts in a decent shift and works hard for the team. Chips in with a few goals and tracks back well too.
Williamson and Yanga Mbiwa both had great games - Yanga caused me a bit of nervousness at times but redeemed himself with his goal line clearance late in the game.
Tiote and Cabaye - both of them starting to find that chemistry together that led us to 5th 2 seasons ago. Tiote breaking up the play nicely and keeping it simple and Cabaye playing some absolute gem passes around the pitch.
Obertan as you said did a nice job too - after the chelsea game, I thought Pardew was mad to give him another chance (though he did team up well with Anita for the second goal). He was much better last night though!

The only negatives from last night were Debuchy getting a yellow (ruling him out of the Norwich game) and Scumberland beating City. Regardless, still doesn't take away from a great win! (Already got more away wins this season than we managed last season in the whole league campaign!).

I want Anita in the starting line-up but at the moment although I rate his game as the kind that would really get us ticking forward relentlessly I can't fit him in;unless Sissoko goes, but then either Cabaye or Anita go wide right which kinda defeats the purpose:confused:!
Great bunch of snaps and photoshops will make today at work even easier.:):thumbsu::D

Agreed - Anita on form really should be getting a game, was stiff to lose his spot to begin with. I'd be tempted to take off Shola and put Anita and play a 4-3-3 with Anita helping Cabaye and Tiote in the engine room with Gouf and Sissoko pushing up and using their pace and running to support Remy.

With Debuchy out next game, Anita could possibly be an option to start - played full back at times last season quite well. Though with Colo fit again, they might move Yanga to RB (or LB and Santon swapping sides).

Agree though on Monday and work my friend - a working week is always better following a Newcastle win! :D

the Mackem Slayer - Shola Ameobi helped Nigeria to the WC next year, would be great for him to play in the tournament as he reaches the twilight of his career.

Our French legion are up against it following a 2-0 loss away to Ukraine in the first leg. Need to win the second leg 3-0 to go through (or 2-0 and penalties).

Cabaye had a good game for Les Bleus this morning. Debuchy will be usurped by Sagna soon I feel - he's just in there at the moment because Sagna was out for so long with injury. Nice problem to have though when you have Sagna & Debuchy as your two RB's in a squad. Can't see much of the rest of your french legion playing much of a part in Brazil next year apart from the aforementioned and perhaps Remy as an impact sub off the bench. Still, spots will be at a premium in the squad and you'd think that all of the Frenchies there will be fighting hard for a spot :)

I reckon there's a good chance the next French manager will be Alain Pardeaux :)

Of our French legion, Cabaye is probably the only one who would be an automatic starter.

Debuchy is having a great season so far after settling in and if his form continues, could be among the better RBs in the league. Him and Sagna will have a great fight for that RB spot - Sagna's CL and Arsenal credentials might give him the edge but will need to wait and see I guess.

Sissoko is a bit of a squad player for them - sometimes gets a run off the bench. He, like the other January recruits, is starting to cope with the EPL style and speed - if he can find a bit more end product/class to add to his pace, strength and work rate, he'd be a serious player.

Remy I think will make the squad if he continues to keep scoring and keep fit though seems to be out of Giroud and Benzema for the starting spot with the other usually coming off the bench.

Yanga Mbiwa has played for the national side and is pretty highly rated in France. He's starting to find his feet in the premier league and might be an outside chance to make the squad (I'd have him over Koscienly personally).

Ben Arfa is probably the only other one who could make the squad but that would require him and Deschamps to put their differences aside and for Ben Arfa to force his way into Pardew's current team and start performing again.

Would love to see Gouffran in the mix (he's been close to our best player this season) but France are fairly well off in terms of wide players/wingers/forwards - maybe his club mates should put a word in for him? :D

Some reports circulating that Cashley would sell the club to a buyer for about $260m - if only a rich Russian billionaire/middle eastern royal family could come in! :p

Truth be told, I'd wouldn't want to become a money bags club that spends 50-100m on new players every transfer window (though some investment would be nice!). I'd rather just have an owner who genuinely wanted the club to do well and didn't seemingly do everything he could to piss off the fans/destablise the club!

Solid win by the boys on the weekend - following 2 great wins and the international break, I was worried we might have a bit of a hangover and drop points. Despite a lot of our players being involved in internationals, we didn't seem to lack any energy - Shola had a great game with Remy and Gouffran scoring the goals (while Leroy Fer - the guy we've been linked to in the past, scored a late consolation goal for them).

To make the win even better, Palace won and Scumberland lost meaning Palace jumped them on the table!

The only disappointing news from the weekend being that Colocinni still wants to return to Argentina (but being the professional he is, won't try and force the move and will respect the club's position). If only Kinnear hadn't debunked the Douglas transfer in pre season. I'm happy for Colo to go given I think Yanga is starting to find his feet and Williamson has looked solid since forcing his way in. We'd need to get something back for Colo though and would need a handy replacement as well.

Will be interesting to see how that plays out in January.

Another win and we are temporarily 5th in the league!

If only we hadn't dropped the Hull game (still the only team to beat us at St James SM) and the derby...

Pardew should be a strong chance for manager of the month for November - credit where it's due, has done a great job in turning things around following the derby loss and league cup defeat against City. 4 wins on the bounce! Bring on Swansea and Man Utd :thumbsu:

Howay the lads!!

Sissoko's goal an absolute belter!

Gouff on the scoresheet again - for a bloke who cost us around $500k in January, he's starting to pop up with quite a few goals. One of my favourites in the team - works hard and plays his role well!

In other surprising news - apparently the club have unveiled plans to undergo a multi million pound redevelopment of the training facilities at the club to bring them on par with the elite of Europe. Great to hear but I live in fear of these good times switching to the darker ones we normally have - better enjoy it while it lasts! :D

Howay the lads!

Frustrating 3-0 loss to Swansea for us.

Cisse and Ben Arfa late withdrawals.
Obvious handball penalty not given.
Shelvey headbutt on Debuchy, not sent off.
Gouffran barged over in the penalty area.
OG by Debuchy after Krul's parried save deflected into him and went into an open net.
Howard Webb you can get fecked!

Another day, we might have won.

Ah well, can't complain too much, 4 wins on the bounce and Scumberland on the bottom. Looking forward to see if we can pick up a first win at Old Trafford since 1972.

Congrats to Krul and Pardew on winning player and manager of the month in November!

A great effort as we also had Remy and Gouffran on the shortlist!

What's the latest on Ashley? Sounds like the sort of bloke that is just looking to make a quick buck on a capital return. Newcastle would be the perfect club for an Arab sugar daddy to take over with its massive fan base and history.
True and it's been like that for years. My opinion is that Joe Kinnear,Pardew and Ashley are knob-ends.
I don't know who Pardew thought he was motivating when he talked about exploiting Man U's lack of form and confidence after their Everton loss but I've got a nasty feeling we're about to find out!

To be fair Man U look a disappointing shadow of their former selves and we can take a bit of credit for that, but I am going to be very happy to be proven 100% wrong in my pre match prediction here. With a bit of fortune we smash'emdead in the second!!!HOWAYYYYY!!!

Oh my lord....we've broken the hoodoo!!! What I wouldn't have given to be among the travelling Toon Army!!! I'm still shaking! Howay the f***ing lads!!!!

Debuchy, Cabaye, Tiote, Colo, Williamson, everyone - just immense!

Don't forget that Remy Tiger,he's a player as you know and Anita while not playing his best game tonight helps to set the pace from defence to attack and vice versa so well with his passing range and constant availability;also tracks and defends well, tough little bugger as well.Hope he gets a few games on the trot because I think he'll grow into something very handy.Talking of which how's that bloody Williamson!!Gets better each week and is looking like he should go to the world cup.

Congrats mate. Amazing result.

Cheers my Tiger brother! We've actually done you guys a few favours this season - drew with Liverpool and beat Chelsea, Man Utd and Spurs :D
