Hate to say it but have to agree with King Kev - we've been treading water. Maybe we need to accept we're no longer a big club and have to embrace midtable mediocrity and entertain no dreams of silverware or cup runs :(

The silver lining with HBA is it's only a 6 month deal apparently - if Pardew is sacked in that time, he might come back and get a second chance (though I reckon it's just a case of Ashley hoping he goes alright so he can sell him off before his contract finishes).

Some great pics of Hull city fans waiting for HBA to arrive at the club to do all the paperwork, he was mobbed and HBA looked happy as a pig in shit. This guy will go on and be a star at Hull, Steve Bruce loves the flair players and gives them free rein, good luck HBA, much love to you.

Yeah, very happy for Ben Arfa but absolutely shattered at the same time - we need him in our team at the minute to give us a decent threat going forward.

Mind boggling stuff - we give Obertan a second chance, a guy who walked out on the team on a match day while a guy who only wanted to play for us gets loaned out to Hull.

Well Pardew's got his wish - he better deliver some better form and results now.

A sight for sore eyes! I hope he scores the winner against us and runs over to Pardew and bows, that would be amazing. Hull are my 2nd team now, I love the ambition of their owner and the way Bruce lets his players play the game, it's all about expressing yourself and can be very adhoc. Good luck HBA.

The more I think about it, I reckon Ben Arfa is banking on Pardew being sacked within the 6 months he's out on loan. His agent has being making a bit of noise saying they've rejected transfer offers because he wants to stay at Newcastle and going out on loan for 6 months is a good way for him to keep fit and get games (better than rotting in the reserves under Pardew).

How Pardew has kept his job with our 2014 form is just beyond me! Any other club/manager and he'd be gone surely.

Also, saw this comment posted somewhere else. Pretty damning really!

"Mapou Yanga-M'Biwa: 23-year-old league-winning captain and French international to back-up right-back in a team that's conceded 127 goals in two seasons.

Papiss Cissé: 22 goals in Bundesliga, second to only Mario Gomez in the scoring charts and the league's most effective striker, turned into an irrelveant right-winger without any technique, muscles or running-ability.

Davide Santon:
Champions League winner and Italian international as a teenager, turned into a security risk without any positional awareness, consistently forced to put in crosses with the wrong foot.

Hatem Ben Arfa: Five-time French league winner, French international, wonderkid, hailed as the most talented of the 87' generation, frozen out from a team that scores in 1/3 games and behind Gabriel Obertan in the pecking order.

Moussa Sissoko: Industrial box-to-box midfielder, Young Player of the Year in Ligue 1 in 2010, French international valued at €30m in 2010, turned into right-midfield target of missiles if not confused "modern number ten" with no ability to score goals.

Yoan Gouffran: Quick, rather intelligent striker who scored 14 goals in Ligue 1 turned into pointless workhorse/extra full-back with no technique, movement or crossing-ability.

What we have to look forward to:

Remy Cabella: French international, scorer of 14 goals from midfield in mid-table Ligue 1 team, tbc.

Siem De Jong: Ajax league winning captain, Dutch international who performed well in the Champions League, tbc.

Daryl Janmaat: Dutch World Cup bronze-medal winner, tbc.

Enough is enough. I get no pleasure any more from watching Newcastle United and that hurts. He's an awful manager, a defensive coward, a ruiner of decent players and a liar. Pardew out. Now."

This is a real sad state of affairs, we have recruited some brilliant talent and the majority have all but fallen by the wayside, it must a real red flag for potential footballers when assessing options.

There is absolutely no doubt at all that he needs to be sacked, what is even more ridiculous is the length in term for his contract. Mike Ashley will keep him to simply save the monetary set back his pay out would cause. Downright flogs running the club.

FFS..WTF...We needed a striker and a central defender so we got rid of a striker and a central defender..I can't quite say I want us to lose but whatever gets rid of Cashley and Pardew is what I'd like to see.
It's long way back from here to where supporters would like to see our club but like King Kev said it won't happen while that campaigner has the financial reigns and the unimaginative yes-knob remains as coach....can't see improvement with that level of self serving disinterest and footballing stupidity in ownership and coaching.
Could easily be gambling with relegation.
Cisse to score 20 coming back from a knee??
No-one get through a season without a suspension or injury to a key defender.
High stakes poker with the club's EPL status.Cashley has apparently been handed some rolled-gold merchandising contract from Glasgow Rangers so my hope is he'll sell at the end of the season and move on to shagging Glaswegians.

Just realised Ben Arfa's loan is for the season - unless there is a recall clause in there, we may never see him in a Toon top again. I should be pumped, it's only the 4th time the tiges have made the finals in my lifetime but I'm feeling shattered about the Toon :(

Team is lacking creativity badly. Pardew's solution, loan out our best creative player to a PL rival and not replace him.

Meanwhile Yanga Mbiwa deemed not good enough by Pardew but will play in the Champions League with Roma. :drunk:

In a funny way, we ended the window like we started it, pessimism, discontentment and with a squad lacking depth and quality. Pardew has to go.

Siem De Jong ruled out until at least Christmas. This season is going from bad to worse. We might have a relegation battle on our hands... :(

Yeah, not really looking like we'll have a lot to cheer this season.

Tigers season done and dusted, not liking my chances of getting much joy from the Toon :(

Think I'll jump on the Freo train for the flag scon ;)

You're welcome Newcy Tiger there's a bit of room aboard after the Sydney loss.
Didn't see yesterday's game but Adelaide are obviously capable of running sides off their feet;sounds like what you got.
At the moment I'm hoping Cashley is going to move to protect his Glasgow Rangers investment. He's been gifted exclusive merchandising rights for a quid but the club has to survive for that to be worth anything.
I think Scottish Football excludes anyone from owning either two clubs or one either side of the border.
Sell us buy them...
Simples:D:D:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Well some rare good news, Tiote apparently got through a match for Ivory Coast so while we lose De Jong, we at least get someone back into the the starting lineup.

A poll in the Chronicle also revealed that about 85% of fans want Pardew sacked! Hopefully that opens Ashley's eyes. Given our bad start to the season, I'd be happy to struggle for a few more games if it meant the departure of Pardew, short term pain for hopefully long term gain.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-cent-of-fans-want-him-sacked-as-manager.html

Also, Rob Elliott apparently is eager for first team football so he can remain in the Ireland national team set up - with us signing that young Nottingham kid Darlow (touted as a future England keeper) due to join the club next season after his loan at Forest ends, he could step into the number 2 spot pretty easily you'd think?

Always like Elliott - solid and dependable when called upon but we have a bit of depth in the GK stocks with also Alnwick and young Woodman(?) on the books.

Maybe Elliot and Tiote can play upfront?
Or Tiote to create from central attacking mid and Elliot to coach??
We've just got to get the combinations right, and give them some time to build some chemistry....:cool:o_O

Had a good chuckle at that!

Pardew to start giving Perez more game time by playing him at CB and telling him to shoot from distance?

Rolando Aarons to be converted into our new LB so he can provide extra run and pace coming out of defence?

Almost farcical how the club is run sometimes - this is meant to be a professional sporting team :$:(

Will be good (or bad) to see former Toon keeper Fraser Forster in goal for Southampton this weekend. He's still a Toon fan at heart - hopefully lets us slip a few in past him!

A few good stories from the international break:
  • Cabella almost scored and had an assist (ironically scored by Loic Remy) on his France starting debut.
  • Rolando Aarons got a goal on debut for the England U20 side.
  • Ayoze Perez had his debut for the Spain U21 side.
  • Armstrong scored twice for the England U18s against Holland and the club aren't looking to loan him out.
With De Jong out, I wouldn't mind seeing this team:

-----------------Krul----------------
Janmaat, Colocinni, Williamson, Haidara
---------Tiote----Colback------------
Cabella------Sissoko-----------Aarons
-------------Riviere------------------

Alternatively a 4-4-2:
------------Krul--------------
Janmaat--Colo--Willo--Haidara
-------Tiote-----Colback-----
Cabella----------------Sissoko
-------Riviere---Perez--------

Would love to see Ferrreyra make the bench at least (where has he gone?) and chances given to Abeid, Aarons and Armstrong (the Triple As) :D
