0-0 HT. Pretty dour contest so far. Struggling to carve out chances but our defence is shutting out their attacks as well.

Maybe Cabella's creativity to come in the second half could help unlock their stubborn defence.

Janmaat off for Steven Taylor. Guessing to either rest Janmaat or ensure he doesn't pick up a yellow (and subsequent 1 game ban).

aaand a second yellow for Sissoko from a brain fade. He's off.

Suspect our winning run is over

1-0 loss. Can't win them all sadly. Let's hope we bounce back at Burnley midweek!

Disappointing result. I was away for the weekend with no Foxtel, but I managed to watch most of it on a mate's iPad on Foxtel Go.
Sissoko and Colback will both miss vs Burnley yeah? We will barely be able to field a team..

Yeah, not going to be ideal. Burnley is a team we should be beating and with our tough run of games coming up, 3 points is vital.

Hopefully Abeid is fit and can come in.

Assuming 3 mids again it'll probably be

Tiote, Anita and one of Armstrong or Cabella. I'd prefer Cabella further forward but don't think Gouf offers much as a midfielder (or at present, as a forward either).

Gouffran is shocking. He literally doesn't impact the match at all.

What happened to the guy who work his arse off going both ways and be in and around the box to slam home deflections and bobbled saves? Gouff was a work horse, he has lost that and in turn has lost any ability to influence the game.

Why didn't we play Cabella in the 11? Perez up front by himself would have been better, we could have had Rem as an attacking midfielder on the right. Pardew is a flog, we have a quality squad yet this peanut has NFI how to set us up tactically. We are shocking going forward, 14 goals is abysmal.

Really sad to see Gouff being the shell of a player he once was - think he's one who's suffered from being played as a winger when he's a striker by trade. Agreed that Cabella should have started ahead of him at West Ham.

I'm pretty worried about this Burnley game, we're really threadbare and down to bare bones now and they are on a bit of a resurgence (2 wins and a draw in their last 3 games), they are catching us at the right time...

Also saw this yesterday - potentially a worry...

Apparently Cashley may sanction the loaning of some of our younger players to Rangers to help with their promotion push.

Don't like the idea of our injury riddled and small squad being further weakened by sending youngsters up to play for Rangers and help them get back into the Scottish PL. I guess if it is kids like Vuckic, Campbell and others who aren't getting a game in the first team it might be okay but imagine if Ashley loaned out someone like Aarons just to help bolster Rangers' promotion push...

Essentially makes us a feeder team to Rangers.

I think we're lucky to be as high on the ladder as we are with the injuries we've had to this point. Hopefully we get them all back around the same time so we can make a big hard push at the second half of the season.

Yeah no doubt about that, the counter attacking style and hitting teams on the break with pace has worked quite well (think I read we only had the majority of possession in 2 or 3 of our wins).

Will be backs against the wall kind of stuff especially away from home. Hope we can bounce back...

I'll be happy with a point TBH! I plan on getting up to watch the game too.. 6.45am is doable!

We have never been a possession based side, you will have to go back to KK's glory days to find us with +50% matches. The fact we have guys who can actually play the ball along the ground and have strong bodies to hold the ball up means we shouldn't just primarily play on the counter, it's frustrating.

Aarons will not go to Ibrox, if he does they will tear down SJP and MA will be fighting to see out the week as an owner. I have no worries sending talent to Rangers, in fact it would be beneficial to us in the long term, I only hope that we send the right guys there and this doesn't just become a piece to the puzzle of MA's overall plan to turn Rangers back into a CL club for we all know he has only the marketing side of his business in the forefront of his thoughts.

Was planning to get up for this but ended up oversleeping. 1-1 not a bad result though, probably would have taken that before kickoff.

From most accounts was a pretty poor first half. Getting a point is a decent result for us given our outs and their decent form of late.

Chelsea up next at home, we normally play alright against them but in the form they are in, I don't know how we'll fare. Need a big crowd to cheer the team on!

We were pathetic in the first half. And then when he made the changes of Cabella for Perez and Taylor for Willo, I thought we were back to where we were in the first few weeks of the season.

Taylor was very good when he came on. I've been his critic along the journey but he brings plenty of energy to the game. No idea why we would ever start Willo ahead of him. Dummett/Taylor actually worked quite well. I'd definitely be going with Colo/Taylor when Colo returns.

Cisse did score but he was awful all game. The goal he scored was off his knee, says it all about him. Plenty of chances went begging due to him playing poorly.

Abeid was very good again. He controlled the midfield for most of the game, he is so physical. Having said that though on a few occasions he pulls the trigger on a shot from half way up the pitch it seems - it needs to be a new team rule no shooting outside of the box! He needs to iron this out of his game.

Set pieces were deplorable, as they have been all year. This needs to be addressed in January.

Is there any reason why Cabella is not starting?? He is clearly our best attacking player, he is quick with his feet, he crosses well and is really finding his feet, you could tell he was the best player on the pitch and if that **** Pardew had of played him from the start I have no doubt we would have won.

I am chomping at the bit to have Aarons and Cabella playing together on the flanks, have Sissoko play the central attacking midfield role and Tiote and Colback supporting. The quality is there, I just wish Pardew would play guys in the right position and give them a little reign to hold possession.

Any idea why Pards hauled off Williamson at HT? Usually pretty rare to sub off defenders unless they are injured.

Great to have Abeid back, a most timely return. No idea why Anita didn't get a chance though? Surely would have been better than Gouffran in the midfield.

We were lucky Elliot played - apparently his wife is expecting to give birth to their first child and he might have missed the game to be with her, handing young Alnwick his debut for the club.
