Don't like the idea of selling TC, but if it gets us Falcao I could get over it. Plus IMO Cech has a fair few seasons still in front of him, so it's not like we are desperate to keep him.

Christian Eriksen has declined the opportunity to sign a contract extension with Ajax, his current deal expires at the end of next season but Ajax expects him to leave in the summer. Dutch and Danish papers are saying Liverpool are the front runners, they have been scouting him all season and have already made contact with the player.

It would be an incredible signing if this went through. He's got the potential to be one of the best in the world in his position - but naturally I'm sure there will be a lot of competition for him.

I don't understand why City didn't just loan him back to Swansea for the season, then recall him if they have a few injuries or somethng. He's played 179 minutes in the league all season, this is terrible for his development.

I don't have any sympathy for players that do this. He chose to go there, could have joined either of our clubs but chose money instead.

Benteke is worth around £10m at the moment but would be the wrong signing for City.

Can't see Villa selling Benteke for 10m, considering they paid 7m for him only last summer. Not much of a return on what could prove to be a fantastic piece of business

To be fair, a player of Eriksen's quality would play all the time at almost any club he went to. It'll be interesting to see who else goes in for him, like I said it sounds like Liverpool are front runners at the moment and have made the first move but we're not going to be the only ones. As you say, there are a lot of factors players need to consider before making a move. When presented with alternatives many players will try to pick the right club or the best fit for them and their career, as opposed to simply jumping on the biggest or richest club that makes an offer. We play a very similar style to Ajax and are putting together a very young and talented squad, you also have the Agger and Suarez factor (national team captain and played together at Ajax) so that may work in our favour but who knows, hopefully he thinks we're the right club for him.

You'd damn well want that clause in there, otherwise its gotta be up there with one of the most stupid contracts handed out.

No argument on that - only the club and Pardew/his representatives would know if such a provision exists but its heavily rumoured to have a clause of such a nature. Given the number of managers we've had in the last 10-15 years, I for one like the idea of trying to create some stability
