Txiki is in Spain talking to Pellegrini's agent according to several Spanish media and the Guardian.

was apparently of a 'general nature', and had nothing to do with pellegrini.

Rumoured that Rodgers and Benitez are also on the short list.

looking to upgrade (if possible), not downgrade. complete rubbish that rodgers would even be considered to replace bobby.

we've almost signed diego novaretti from toluca according to reports. apparently pretty big and pretty quick. for free as well. sounds like the ideal replacement for kolo.

Rumours going round that Wenger could be heading to PSG

Yeah I think we're in agreeance here. While they might be discussing Rodgers as an option I can't see it happening myself, City would be after far more high profile targets than him and I can't see either he or FSG being too keen on throwing in the towel on his project at Liverpool just yet.

Having said that and I'm playing the devils advocate here, the source of the rumour is generally quite reliable and there is some logic behind City enquiring about him. City have just brought in Begiristain as their DOF and I wouldn't be surprised if he was looking for managers who fit the variation of the Barcelona model that he is looking to implement through all levels of the club, I would have thought he'd be looking for someone to act as an extension of himself so it would be counterintuitive to bring in a manager with their own unique set of principles. It wouldn't be the first time Begiristain had hired a manager with little to no senior experience either.

I think the far more likely scenario is that Mancini stays for another season at least, but if they were looking for a replacement (and considering Mourinho is almost a certainty to be back at Chelsea next season) I wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Pellegrini, De Boer, Benitez, Klopp (although his style involves a more rapid transition from defence to attack than the traditional tiki-taka style) or even Laudrup as a smokey were in the mix.

or looking for someone with results.

i think we'll keep bobby, he deserves that at least. but guys like a pellegrini have been exceptional. fantastic at villareal, madrid and now overachieving with malaga.

if bobby was to get the flick, and klopp wasn't available, pellegrini would most definitely be the guy i wanted in. fluent in english too.

I think people gave got to remember that Txiki's job is aa much strategic as operational. There won't be a time where he doesn't have two/three/four managers in mind as potential City managers (I'm talking Pellegrini not Rogers here).

And there won't be too many agents of any significance that he hasn't or won't be sitting down to lunch with.

His job relies on building relationships with football people.

Why? He's got the best credentials of any manager on that list, and will probably be adding a UEFA cup to his list of honours in the next few weeks. They could do worse.

Not because of him though.

Chelsea are the best team in that comp.

I could have managed them this far.

So when Chelsea were playing shit it was all his fault but now that Benitez has them playing good football it's all the players? Benitez would at least bring a tactical side to City in Europe; Mancinu is a terrible tactician.
