I would just like to take the opportunity to express two things:

1 Corey Enright is a GUN and would be first pick in my Geelong team anytime. Loved his game today. Week in week out he does the job and long may he grace the fields of KP

2 Joel Corey is making me a little nervous down back ( Even though he is servicable back there does seem to have a knack of selling people into trouble) I hope this HBF experiment is just that, and he is back on the ball in the finals when it really counts, and where he belongs

I just posted this in the tenace thread.

I know I said this last week and got smacked for it. But he is just about done.
They have to give him another role for the rest of the year.
He is either seriously out of form or the new game style of the AFL is passing him.

He just looks like he is lacking composure under time restraints / pressure. And If we are going to have him stuff up then how about it isn't in the backline?
The pressure he is placing on others around him is incredible. He is the new Ling of 06. "Ling receives ball flat footed, takes his time, runs out of options, goes backwards under pressure"

And then on the flip side, when the ball is to be won or lost and it goes out to him on a wing and he looks to be moving forward I am rapt it is him that has it.

Joel Corey is down on form at the moment IMO. His disposal at times is bad one moment and then brilliant the next. He is an enigma wrapped in a mystery. But I agree he is better in the midfield.

BTW better hide from tonycam talking like that about Joel Corey.

JC has had some shakey moments recently and has not quite been up to his usual game. But this is really only his kicking and occasional decision making, his defense, tackling and engine is still running fine.

Huge man love for Enright, almost farcical him being occasionally called 'underrated' when he is in my opinion the best (non key) defender in the comp. Beats every opponent and never loses a contest while racking up midfield stats.

Spot on. I actually think he's in Carji territory.

His disposal has been very off the past fortnight or so.

When DJ comes back I am sure we will be seeing JC in the midfield more.

On Enright... I remember back in 04,05 and 06 when we used to do the chippy sideways kicks he was the only player who looked to kick long. I thought he had a good 2007 but wasnt as good last year or at the start of this year but i seriously underestimated him.

Even at the start of the year I thought he was a very good player but was carried by the defence.... I was very wrong. He is just.... amazing. Has been my favourite player this year.

Corey's disposal has been atrocious the past two weeks, but he's done a pretty good job down back. That said, he shouldn't be played down there. I really have no idea why Bomber persists with it. It's idiotic really. Even Mooney said in an interview that Corey is perhaps the best clearance player in the league, so why not have him in the guts? It's not rocket surgery.

On Enright; I'm absolutely baffled as to how he doesn't feature in everyone's top 2 this week. Back to back AA. Starting this time, no bench.

Hopefully when Kel gets back he'll be released to chase the pigskin around a bit

joel has been covering positions down back way before kelly started covering the loss of hunt.

Im sure he will be back in the midfield before too long , Its only because of injuries hes spending so much time down there at the moment and there isnt anyone else that could fill the void.
