Failproof method I use to tilt myself;

a) Register for some crappy $10 tourney.
b) Realise I'm not in the mood and would rather go watch clown pr0n or read a Mark Robinson article.
c) Decide that I'm just going to spaz-shove the next time I have any semblance of a backdoor anything.
d) Shove with some backdoor K-high crap, yelling ONE TIME.
e) Laugh hysterically as villain turns over some Q-high draw, giving me 70% equity or so. Of course villain hits.
f) Since I didn't really want to play any more, pretend like I'm ok with the outcome, which tilts me even more.

I think the real-life equivalent is something like getting dragged to a seedy club by your mates and immediately looking for any excuse to leave. Then as you've found one, you manage to get the number of a girl you fancy. Suddenly the night's looking up! Only at this point your mate leans over and whispers "Was that Kelly? You know she has the herp, right?". So now you're cursing you luck, only you don't want feel like a complete dickwad, so you pretend just for a moment that you're totally tolerant of Kelly's little problem, and then proceed to down 14 shots of Vodka in an effort to forget the night altogether.

Or something like that.

Every tourney i'm playing lately, idiots getting it in ridiculously bad and sucking out. Cannot catch a break.

Big pot so now 1st with 24 left.

Edit: and for the 1st time in a while i was on the giving end instead of the receiving. Instantly changed tables so don't have the hand history but it was this:

Blinds 100/200
Cartman $12k
Good player $4.5k (99% opr for the last 2 years)

Dealt 88, double suited. Folded around to me 2 spots from the button. Raise to 500. Folds to the BB who flat calls.

Flop: 2d2h3c
Pot: $1,200
He checks. I bet $900, he flats.

Turn: 10d
He checks. I tank here, his flat-call looks really suspicious. A very large percentage of the time he's going to raise with any pocket-pairs on the flop. Only hand I could put him on that I beat at this stage is ace high (A10/AJ/AQ), should have trusted my instincts and checked behind but at the very last second bet 3/4 pot (2250) and he shoved on me. Was pot committed, pot was $5k, only a little more to call. Sure enough he flips over 33 for the flopped set.

River: 8, ty 4 chips. 2nd/14 left now. :D

Good call, Bad call? Considering the pot was only $2200 and he shoved for $5k. Was 50/50, figured he was weak and in the end was sort of correct, but yeh again they're just getting too good for me...very well played sir. Put me back down into 6th/13.

Sigh.......Internet disconnects when i'm playing 4 $50 turbo sng's with 3 of them on the bubble, pull the damn router cord in and out 3 times to reboot it, yet get nothing. Finally figure out that it's because of Vista's ghey One Live Care program that is blocking the internet because it's "insecure", by the time I get it working i've bubbled all of them with all the players obviously colluding to knock me out...we've all done it.

And down $100 in 6-man $1/2 from making a stupid bluff into someone who flopped trips and turned quads. Add-on next hand, raise CO with 89hh BB min-re raises...wonder what he's got? Flop: 7h10h10s he leads out, I min-raise him out of spite and of course he instantly shoves, ldo. Call and brick out, ldo. So -$300 there, -$200 from the sng's and -$? any potential money I could have won from the sng's. That's a PS3 right there. So effectively someone just stole my PS3, that's how good I feel right about now. Think i'll just go cry myself to sleep now.

Oh, and tonights game was boring as hell. :thumbsd:

Does quad 9's qualify for the bad beat jackpot on other sites? Please say no.

Very ventable.

Having been bitten by a straight flush before though, I might have been calling the $62. Easy to say in hindsight without taking into account the bloodrush from holding quads. Don't I wish!

Hard luck Cartman. I'd say it'll turn around, but I've seen too many of your posts. You should put some winning ones up for a change. :D

Wow thats brutal. You would qualify for bad beat jackpot if you played on absolute/UB or party poker and played one of those bad beat jackpot tables. You would win like 100k-300kish for your bad beat.

It's the OnGame network = ridiculously soft, been playing 2/4 shorthanded on there as well and done quite well there. Quick search of some stats and its easy to tell who the fish are and target them - already know most of the regulars on the site. On that exact same hand shoved 10's into 4's in a heads up game and he flopped a full house, ldo. And after losing a few PokerStars tourneys today down a fair amount, so time to take a break from cash games at least and back to the regular MTT's.

Well I am sure it'll turn around sooner than later I hope :thumbsu:

This is from my last tournament. I wasn't taking the tournament seriously, I am in the top 7 players but too far from 1st or 2nd to qualify for the states (the season ends in two weeks).

This is one that I donkeyed.

I have approx 2500. I am in one spot before under the gun. Blinds are 75/150. The person before me folds. I have K9. I call. Three more people calls the blind.

On the flop comes Ks,7s,2d. I bet 350. Two people fold and the last person hesitates and then calls. I put him on a flush draw. He has only 600 left after the bet.

On the turn comes a 2s. That makes it Ks,7s,2d[2s]. I then knew that he hit the flush. I wasn't playing seriously anyway so I bet 350 again. Predictably he went all in for 600. Normally I would not have called in that situaltion because I knew he had me beat but I was playing the donkey that night so I called. He had 8s,9s so he hit the flush.

On the river came the 2h. That maks it Ks,7s,2d,2s[2h]. Which that gave me the full house. Normally I don't say sorry when I beat people because I grinds me when they do it to me, but with the donkey move I just did I had to say sorry and that I shouldn't have won that.

Did you mean one spot after UTG? so UTG +1...

Anywho, you really shouldn't be limping in with marginal hands like K9os in early position. And i'm also confused, you won the hand yet it's in the vent thread? And it was a qualifier to the States? What tournament is this?

Yeah I meant UTG+1.

The tournament I was playing was APL. I have to finish top two in the venue to qualify for the states and I was about seventh on the board for the season. The leader of the venue is approx 300 points ahead of me so qualifying for the states is an impossiblity. So I actually went into the game to deliberately make stupid moves and decided to just play as a donkey and just enjoy myself.

I normally don't just limp in with K9 off suit in early position but as I said I wasn't taking it seriously. In fact I was limping in with things like 68 off suit which I normally fold even in late position.

I guess the reason I put this in the vent thread is because I couldn't be bothered starting a thread about bad beats you did to other people. Just consider this a vent on behalf of the person I donked. Besides I am a little angry with myself because I should not have got away with that.

There are quite a few things bad about that hand...

1) Limping with K9 UTG+1 to open. Open limping is in general pretty bad, espcially in the relatively shortstacked nature of an APL event. Not only that, it encourages people to overlimp leaving you OOP against more people then you would like with an easily dominated hand...

2) Betting for information, put someone on a flush draw. Turn is a flush card, and then betting enough 350 with the other person having only 600 behind. Once he shoves, you beat precisely nothing...

3) Apologising for how you play. I try and never either apologise or explain the method for my madness when playing live. Case in point, I have A high and am contemplating making a move against someone. Some idiot tells my it cant be that hard to either call or fold, completley overlooking the fact that I am thinking ahead...

Best quote really is "never explain, never complain"

Also, using the example of "Im not really trying" is a bit silly. Maybe slightly increase your range and try some moves, but open limping with K9o is pretty bad...

2 outed after getting it in so good on the flop in the 1/4 mill!!
Standard? Woulda been top 400. Now im nowhere.

Going alright in the MiniFTOPS ME too.
EDIT : Full Tilt shutting down on me while I have a set and folding my hand. Down to 20BB.
