Apart from us a few other things were terrible; the scheduling, the crowd , the umps and the commentating (Derwayne especially).

Any chance we can get the teams eyesight checked out? The only time we kick straight is when it's straight to an opponent. Open your eyes FFS. Brown, Martin and Rich, (2 forwards and our supposed best boot) all missing what should have been goals. Should be no excuse for those misses. Sure you can have a bad kick but multiple cockups ?
And the discipline. Just dumb footy to be holding.

Actually we were so bad that when Dwayne wheeled out his ever reliable "he can get and go", rather than roll my eyes, I found myself agreeing. I thought yep, you know what, you can say that today because that NM player doesn't have an opponent and if he did he probably won't be tackled. So you're right Dwayne, he actually can just get and go because we won't be stoppin' him.

We should have moved for Hinkley when we had the chance and to be honest, outside of Paul Roos, I can't think of another name of interest.

The Hinkley Bus has well and truly moved on, hate to say I told you so but someone bumped a post of mine from three or so years ago on another board where I stated that he'd make a vey good AFL Coach, actually I went a bit further than that but c'est la vie.

We've avoided much of the blpw torch up til this point but rest assured they are coming for us now. Truth be known, aside from Round 1, I've only tipped us the once, but the manner of the two losses has to be disturbing in that both games were effectively gone at 1/4 time.

There would appear to be zero on field leadership to say "ok let's cut this deficit to half by half time and go again". Jed Adcock must be a great off field leader 'cuase he gives us three fifths of **** all on it.

You forgot Lyndsay Lohan Thomas' constant shit acting. Bigger diver than Hams & Selwood.

Makes me sick, but I thought exactly the same thing a few times.

We need a Mark Williams or Paul Roos to give us some bloody hardness around the ball. too many fancy haircuts and not enough balls.

So frustrating. Looking forward to what Vossy has to say. Everyone frustrated. Next week can't come soon enough. If we lose to the Demons it will be membership in microwave time.

Aker to Coach (No sorry, that's just the bottle of JD I've had to drink to drown my sorrows talking...Hic...)

Another thing, I hope to hell Voss has the gonads by dropping a 'name' player. He MUST make an example of someone and demonstrate that no one player is entitled to a game. I think three quarters of our side has that sense of entitlement and it is obvious.

Can anyone explain why Thomas was able to take Wells kick after he marked in the third quarter, considering Wells did not go off and ran straight back to the centre unassisted after Thomas slotted the goal. Did I miss a new rule whereby you can nominate anyone (and in Wells' case nominating a left footer) to take your kick. A few of us were livid at the ground. Did it go unnoticed on the broadcast?

I am already not looking forward to next week's game. Have zero faith in the club at the moment and even if we have a big win next week, I won't be celebrating. All year, the club has banged on about beating teams in and around us and until we start doing so, I think its pointless celebrating any sort of win against lowly opposition (which I consider we are now very much a part of).

This game ranked third in the worst games I've seen live behind the atrocious effort against St Kilda where Milne kicked 11 goals and the game against Richmond where the score was something like 19 - 92 at half time.

I don't care if we lose. I don't care if we get pumped. All I want to see is our players actually show that they care! I have never once paid out players at a game but tonight it was hard not to criticize players for all the stupid free kicks and 50m penalties that were given away along with their complete lack of effort.

If that's fighting for victory like Fitzroy and Bears of old then this group of players need to have a damn hard look at themselves because their effort was a disgrace to all three clubs and the 130 years of history they represent.

As a Victorian based supporter I find it very hard to justify going to our final two games in Melbourne this year. If the players don't care then why on earth should we?

Lions coach Michael Voss lamented his team's loss as "completely unacceptable".

"Despite trying to achieve a couple of different things and approaching them a different way, nothing seemed to work for very long," he said.

"It was certainly something we walk away and say, well, that's unacceptable and we've got to be able to go away and make sure we've got to work harder."

*yawn*

Unacceptable. Wasn't it unacceptable after round one? So how come we dished up that shit? Clearly not the answers I was hoping for. I'm now starting to worry that Voss and the coaches are clearly out of ideas.

I'm sure the past players in attendance tonight would have been absolutely embarrassed with today's effort.

I said exactly the same thing to those I was with at the game. Going to games in Melbourne just isn't fun anymore and you go to games knowing that they are going to get their pants pulled down. Hell, I can handle defeats, but we rarely even give a yelp and the effort for just about every game down here is bordering on diabolical.

What happened to Relentless, United, Respectful?????

Relentless- What happened to relentless footy. Their was no pressure, no commitment, no hard running and no hard footy full stop. We didn't chase, block, tackle and run. Their was not one minute where we played relentless footy.

United- We certainly didn't play for each other. We didn't play for ourselves. We didn't play for the fans we played for no one and it was unacceptable. A united team is a team where the players can depend on each other and quite frankly we haven't seen that in weeks. The boys don't care Rich gets tagged, Hanley is hurt, Merrett is struggling all the other crap that went on tonight. We aren't a united footy club end of story.

Respectful- We want respect, we earn it. We need to be respectful of ourselves and the opposition. We weren't respectful of ourselves and I don't know whether or not we respected the opposition, but I sure as hell hope we do now. If we want to be a respectful club we need to put our head over the footy and get the hard balls. Until we do that we will never be respected as a footy club.

Adversity breeds success! We've had our fair share of adversity it's time for success.

How can an 18 year old draftee show more poise and game sense than 95% of his team mates who have been on the list for so long?

I've been thinking that same thing for weeks. Like with Zorko last year. Perhaps being in our club system forces players to REGRESS... Look at Mayes', Zorko's, Moloney's, Papa's, even Longer's immediate impacts coming straight in, yet seasoned players who have all the fitness, training, strategies etc supposedly locked-down, can't perform at all. Really starts to make me wonder what things go on behind closed club doors that should be changed. It's somewhat endemic, and makes me think it's a coaching issue somewhere along the line.

There's something to be said for the enthusiasm born of simply being stoked to get a game. They're coming out to live their dream, and giving it everything they've got.

I think our players are buckling under the weight of expectation at the moment. They're scared of going backwards, and living out a self fulfilling prophecy.

I don't care if we win next week as much as our players finally being accountable...Voss needs to drop a heap of players for their pathetic mth of footy... Rich, Redden, Rockliff, martin, zorko, golby, patful need to be dropped....and don't play that "too many changes" card
