I don't think he has been good enough...his kicks are floaters without penetration, has min impact until the game is lost. He gets B&F votes for junk time herorics but any player getting cheap kicks could for the lions

Can't say I agree, I think he needs more help and should play permanently on ball, as a lot of your other mids are well and truly under performing.

He was hardly helped by the lack of options tonight. That said, he's not the player I want doing the job. Mayes or Doc should be given the job IMO. You can accept the odd mistake from a kid learning the role, and more importantly, both are beautiful long kicks of the footy.

Jed hesitates to take short kick ins a bit much, and then invariably goes long to the same half back flank time after time. It's painfully predictable, and the source of a lot of the turnover goals kicked on us.

Re: the kick ins - the first quarter in particular (10 kick ins) it was the same recipe.

- Take eternity to get the ball in.
- End up kicking to the exact same spot every time anyway despite taking eternity.
- Make sure - and this is important - both our marking players and flanker fly for the same ball, ensuring spillage.
- Ensure no crumbing players are in vicinity of said spillage.
- Repeat 10 or so times before realising it's a shit strategy.

Well said. Whilst somewhat illogical, I'm of the opinion that a captain should pretty much be able to walk into any other side in the competition. I highly doubt you could say that about Adcock and I don't reckon at any stage of his career you could've either. A captain clearly has to lead from the front and do the right things all of the time and personally, I don't think Adcock does.

Agree with Adcock, he has annoyed me all season. He is not doing the right things as a captain. He is known for his on field leadership, but at the moment, the captaincy is obviously a burden for him because he is out of form, he is being beaten by his opponent and his disposal and decision making is rubbish. Doing the kick in duties and getting the ball from the back half, he should be the one demanding players lead for him, instead of kicking a high ball on someones head.

I just do not understand our ball movement when we do this, not only do we just kick to a contest, but we don't try and kick it to space so someone can run on, nor do we kick it to our advantage, we just kick a high one to the wing. We don't even crowd numbers to one side to try win the ball, half the time we are bloody out numbered at the contest we just kicked to. As a captain, Adcock should be ripping into them demanding they work some leads for him.

Suggestions in here to drop Rockliff are beyond belief. Why drop the one guy that actually gut runs. Yes he isn't overly damaging, that because he is the only one out there putting in, and was to work up the field just to get the ball because no one else bloody will. Rocky got 34 touches, simply through work rate. It's about time the rest of the team did the same thing. We won't win a game this season with nearly every player struggling to touch the thing more than 15-20 times.

Yeah, the "remember 2001" stuff has worn thin. You could use that anecdote to pretend that no team could ever possibly just be bad. Don't think our list is anything close to that one... This is bigger than just a "flick the switch" issue.

I honestly got more enjoyment out of watching the boys in 2011 when we only won 4 games compared to the first four rounds this year. Sure we lost a hell of a lot of games that year and some by hefty margins, but at least you came away knowing that the boys gave every last ounce of themselves and were just not good enough. You can't say that about the first month of footy this year.
