I feel that Whateley has 'dumbed down' his commentary for TV but gee he has had some classic commentary moments...

"Here's the DeGoey moment, he unloads, Bang! You need your stars, and Collingwood's stars have just gone and wrenched the cup back!"

Classic call by Whateley....

"Elliot kicks the goal and Collingwood close like the Grim Reaper!" Absolutely brilliant that it was against the old foe.
was right on the balcony fence in the MCC with my dad and brother for that, one of the best moments in all our lives its incredible how footy can bring people together. The whole place was shaking like crazy and strangers embracing like you'd never see anywhere else.

I was also on the MCC members balcony for that game. The elation at the end was extraordinary. And I embraced some strangers too - might have been you ha ha.

Hi everyone. I'm Leigh. I've been a member for a few years and have enjoyed being a part of the forum. It's an active place for the chatter of all kinds. Like many of you I suspect, I was basically born into Pies appreciation. My Great Grandma knitted me a Collingwood Scarf when I was a few months old, and everyone in my family is a supporter. The passion from my (late) Mum, my Dad, Uncles and Cousins is especially high, and I am glad to be passing down the passion to my own kids - both of whom were registered as Pies members on the day of their birth. My eldest, Quinn, is pumped when we win.

We've lived in Canberra for about 13 years, having moved from Melbourne for work. It's actually an awesome place (despite the rumours), except for the lack of Collingwood stuff (my only rationale for ever wanting to move back is that we could go on the train to games). Still, we manage to get down a few times a year, and just this year a mate and I set up an Official Canberra Supporters Group, which the Club promote on their website.

I haven't spent any real time looking around the BigFooty website, beyond just the Collingwood pages. Is there anywhere else worth checking out? I'm a Premium Platinum Life Member too, which apparently entitles me to stuff incl a Premium Forum, but for the life of me I have no idea where to find that. I'd appreciate any helpful tips/advice in navigating the site.

Go Pies!

Afternoon all, been a reader for years, so decided to join. 58 next week and have been Pies supporter since elder brother, Chris No 47 played back in the 80's. Hence injuries took its toll on him which was a shame. (i wasn't in the same gene queue unfortunately) I played local footy, did okay.
Looking forward to contributing to the forums

He was a super skilful player.
One of the early ones to be able to kick both feet.
A real shame about his injuries.

Awesome Matt. A long time ago now, but I think my brother knew your brother, went to the same gym and possibly worked with him. Go the Pies.

Hi Comrades! Long term passionate Pies supporter here. Lurking this board a while and wanted to introduce myself. Can’t wait to get into some Collingwood-related discussions, and I’m hanging out for a great prelim! Cheers
