No, because as has been said countless times on here, the yellow guernsey with yellow or white shorts does not look very good.

The blue guernsey with white shorts doesn't look good either. I happen to think in the mock up above the white shorts look fine with the yellow guernsey, especially if it's nominated as the clash guernsey.

So, from what I read, you fans pretty much want;

Yes, no, sort of?

Our current Clash sponsers are the same (other than HJ's to Bankwest)

Well you're right...and yet not, all at once :)

When being used for its primary purpose as a clash jumper (i.e. away mk2), it should have the away sponsor arrangement. When it gets used as a home jumper because the club wants to show it off at Subi, then it gets the home sponsors.

(although the club does tend to use the "home" white jumper in its current promotional stuff, it must be said...)

Oh yes you're right, didn't think about that when i was making it :) I just went on the current clash that I have in my cupboard :o

Im ringing club shop mon morning
A match worn jumper without a afl logo would be pretty rare
Never seen one besides keers toNight
And it afl grannys when they fall off.
Should be around 300 for memory

What happened tonight? I haven't been watching.

It was good to see the old guernsey the other week, the yellow works well.
Personally, I think the current tri-coloured design is pretty classy, but I'd get rid of the Eagles logo on the front. I've never been a big fan of the away strip - reminds me of a sports bra.

There was a Hawthorn player years ago who didn't have the AFL logo on his jumper for a fair few rounds. I don't get how this happens when they're printed on these days.

That was Nick Holland. Went for a few weeks with a guernsey minus the AFL logo. I had a pic of it somewhere too.

We looked so much better in round 1 and 2, not just because we won, but because the guernseys just looks so good.

I really do hope that we bring back the yellow peril permanently next year, dropping the white, and either drop the navy or make a navy wings design.

Home - Navy w/wings
Alternate/Clash (worn a few times at home and away) - Yellow peril with blue shorts, white shorts for clash situations.
Away - Royal

I think that would be the best way to please most, marketing and branding seem to want Navy as the main colour, ever since the late 90's. Fans want the wings design, as well as the yellow peril.

For example, this years guernsey schedule would look like

Rd 1: North (home) - Navy
Rd 2: Port (away) - Royal
Rd 3: Sydney (home) - Navy
Rd 4: Hawthorn (away) - Royal
Rd 5: Bye
Rd 6: Melbourne (home) - Yellow
Rd 7: Essendon (away) - Royal
Rd 8: Fremantle (home) - Navy
Rd 9: Bulldogs (home) - Navy
Rd 10: Collingwood (away) - Yellow
Rd 11: Gold Coast (home) - Navy
Rd 12: Adelaide (away) - Royal

etc, etc.

We would end up with a great guernsey for each week, and an even use of all three. Perfection.

Perfect IMO, what do you think?

They all look very good and it's a good combination.

However personally for me; West Coast Eagles should always be represented in the predominantly royal blue and predominantly gold guernseys (your 'Away' and 'Clash' guernseys respectively.)

I don't understand why the Club decided to go down the navy blue path, especially when they had already established a bold and unique look. There are already several Clubs in navy to varying degrees and how exactly does navy represent Perth/Western Australia? To this day you still see a bulk of Eagles Supporters at home and away games wearing royal blue and gold scarves.

Doesn't mean they can't change tact.

A bold move to purely royal blue and gold is just as an effective marketing move as using navy.

I'm warming more and more to accepting a navy night strip (home and away) as a respect to that late-90s/early00s.
I'm going to have a stab and say that 80% of our night games have been worn with navy - only seldom were we under lights pre-95; then given quite a few prime time evening spots home and away from 95-00; and now rarely play away (ie royal) games at night due to tv rights.
If that all makes sense, feel free to correct me!

That's an interesting idea Smeagle. I favour the idea of home navy, away royal, and clash yellow. I think the navy wings design looks really bold and strong, and I always have this mental image of Nic Natanui (despite my thoughts that he's overrated and not a football brained guy) pelting along at Subi....

...but I always picture this at night. The navy looks awesome under lights, but pretty washy during the day. Light reflects off of navy strips too much during a day game, so it loses its strong look.

Awesome idea. That'd be favourable.
