I haven't read them (they are next on my list after I finish Gentlemen Bastards) but I doubt it will take away any enjoyment through missing references. If the series is great, I will get them on a rewatch.

Started episode 3 and I was so happy that I recognised a Witcher story that I have actually read!

The swordplay really is fantastic. HC has really mastered it.
Only watched two episodes and they do feel a bit like he’s just doing side quests in the game but they are very fun.

3 episodes in and all the Geralt stuff is superb, The Yennefer stuff isn’t as strong but not bad and the Ciri stuff has been very good as well.

Just finished episode 1.

Cavill has absolutely nailed Geralt, that sword fight is one of the best I've seen period, captures the essence of the Witcher fighting style while hammering home just how much of a threat he is to your average human peasant.


As someone who's a massive fan of the books/games, absolutely hooked so far.
