Is it moreso because it wasn't needed or is it that and a bad movie?

I reckon its that Gladiator I was a perfect 1-and-done movie.

And much like its TV counterparts, the sequels/reboots, weren't needed or nearly as good.

Then again, there are some sequels that are just as good as the OG. Like the 2005/6 AFL GFs or Undertaker/HBK WM 25/26

Other times the sequels are even better, like how every-time The Undertaker wrestled Kurt Angle it was better and better til their WHC* match at NWO** 2006
