J-Lo has big hips and was laughed at and mocked, albeit in mostly good spirits.

Kim K has a fat arse and is applauded and admired for it 10 odd years later.

The point is that men have varied tastes, just like women do. You can't say that all men prefer women with curves any more than you can say that all men prefer straight up and down women or petite women.

A few years ago on a shopping tour we went to a shop labelled 'for real women' (size 14+). I made the mistake of saying 'oh because I'm not a size 14 I'm not real?', cue 20 women losing their shit at me because I didn't realise how lucky I was to be able to find clothes my size everywhere else. I'd never really thought about how little clothing options there are for bigger sizes, but I still don't really like the 'real' women phrasing. We're all real women, any shape or size.

Yeah **** you DG! How dare you eat properly and take care of yourself!

Bitches. Fat ugly bitches.

Also- there's only one type of people that can force food onto people and that's Grandmas. Wog grandma's in particular ;)

(RIP my yia yia)
Both my grans earned their cooking chops in England between the wars, two worse cooks you'd never meet. I'd have killed for an old school yia yia.

It wasn't literall...I only had two beers, then two pints, then 4 beers, then 3 scotch's. Still a good day yah? How good are Monday's!
I got to work a little late, only 5 to 8, then I got to leave at 6.30, and I only have to plan for one class tomorrow. So a fairly easy day today.

Having said all that, it's not easy, and I have to constantly reassure myself that the way I look is perfectly acceptable. Yesterday I tried on a wedding dress with my mum, and the first two comments that popped out of her mouth were negative, but I loved the dress so I ignored her input.
.

#sayyestothedressproblems.

What's the dress like?
Also- are you going to lose some weight before the day? /justkidding!!

She made a mean pastitsio. I miss pastitsio. :(
(And her of course)

I hate that "Real women have curves" bullshit. So just because a woman might be born thin, and watch what she eats, she's not a real woman? **** off. Real women have vaginas. That's it.

This.

'Women come in all shapes and sizes' is true (in fact it's true for all humans), but it's a massive cop out.

Most people in Australia are overweight for their body type.

Buzz words and phrases trying to tell people what they should and should not consider healthy/attractive get thrown around, but you can't escape the above and it's concerning.

Not so sure about that. I've been engaged since May and the amount of people who have asked me if I'm going to lose weight for the wedding is ridiculous.
I hope none of them have invites.

Mostly men, women or an even distribution of both?

I know a couple of girls who are soon to be married/recently married that are sensitive about their weight (neither are heavy, it's just insecurity) and I'd want them restrained before asking that question...

My personal "tastes" in regards to weight are probably more flexible and varied than some.

I just like what I call "healthy". This means a lady could be a few kilos heavy or be fairly thin or whatever, the main point is that they at least seem in a healthy range regardless of how they are built.

Too thin or obese obviously isn't healthy.

As for the topic of shaming, well, yeah in general especially with social media etc people tend to take things to extremes to get their views across. Personally I don't actually use most social media, like Facebook, Twitter etc, so I'm not as exposed to it, but I would be in the minority there I guess.

I agree but why are you concerned and why should it be concerning?
