The Tankers were all over us, cocky as. Telling us how much they were going to beat us by rnd 1 etc.... . We were the under dogs, but we ended up points.

I'm getting the feeling we are a bit cocky this time around. The confidence in the club is good but lets keep a lid on it.

Excited and nervous about Rd 1. Confident we can get the job done, but the Blues don't have that bad of a side either.

Let's just say I haven't been making any outlandish predictions amongst my Blue supporting friends and colleagues, though there are a few bets on the game :D

Same same. I think we'll win & its good to be confident, so whether we win or not is out of our control.

So in short, give your Carltank mates heaps like I've been giving my Carlton supporting brother-in-law of an ethnic background.:D

I'm not sure if I'm more nervous this time or last time. Either way, should be a packed crowd and a belter of a game. Can't wait for the footy being back.

We are the talk of the town and that can only be a good thing.

Only thing I'm worried about is Cotch maybe gonna miss this game and maybe might give the tanker's abit more of a chance as he in my opinion add's 5-10 percent to our game alone with his precision passion and smart footy brain.

As said before though, It's out of our hands.

It's all nice and rosey that we beat them Round 1, but no-one has mentioned that they did beat us in round 14. To their credit (i reluctlantly give) they did start to get their act together later in the season. They lost to Sydney and Adelaide by 2 and 8 respectively. We would have been wrapt with that result, instead of the drubbing we got.

In round 14, we were missing McGuane and Moore, but we being beaten around the packs, and Jackson wasn't playing either. It was a very sad day. The rest of my brothers and family barack for Carlton (my uncle played for them) so i didn't hear about the end of it for a while.:(

Im sure Moore played on Fev that game and did heroic that game untill Fev went nuts in the last quarter if i can recall.
And yes we are being cocky as supporters (or some of us) and we shouldn't think we will turn up and play our best and win otherwise we might see another thing coming :(

I just checked the stats, I meant Thursty, not Moore.

as much as im unhappy with cotchins injury woes im glad he's learnt such a big lesson at such a young age.

Carlton in round 1 is a must win game for us. Will not only launch us off for the start of the season but they lie within the category of teams we have stumbled over in the past. Those ' mid level teams' such as StKilda, Kangaroos, Bulldogs, Collingwood, Adelaide and so on are the teams we have to be able to beat to make an impact.

The thing that we can say with absolute certainty is that it's going to be a MASSIVE game for both clubs and the best way to kick off season 2009.

Cuz vs Judd
Lids vs Murphy
Cotch vs Gibbs
Foley vs Stevens

Wallace vs Alfred E Newman

Can't wait.

Mouth watering mhill, except Stevens is suspended. Gives him more time to lose another couple of kgs:D
