From BomberBlitz:Any reports on the game? How did Bendigo look? How did McPhee and co go?
I don't think he's unlucky.
I think he's unfit and overweight and we might never see the best of him.
Needs to dramatically change his body shape.
Pretty close to the most ridiculous comment i have ever read on Bigfooty. A sensational half against St.Kilda for an unfit and fat bloke, can't wait to see him when he hits his straps.

Injured again yesterday.
Played on Raph Clarke so it was easy pickings.
This is his third year and correct my if i'm wrong but he's failed to string 5 games together.
I'm sick and tired of players shortchanging the fans by not being in the best possible shape. Its ok to suspend players for drinking and missing training but guys that are constantly unfit and show up overweight... well, we just make excuses for them.
I want to see him do what the boxers do and go nuts for 6 weeks prior to a fight and get in unbelievable shape.
I can't believe how stupid you really are. As a fan I don't feel shortchanged by Neagle at all, he was drafted as a 17 year old and is showing great promise. Constantly Unfit and overweight? If he is turning up to every session then shouldn't we be placing the blame on our fitness staff and dieticians? And fancy comparing boxers training to footballers training. Utterly ridiculous. He has just turned 20 and you are writing him off, you fool.
Maybe you should learn how to read a post properly champ then you might understand what someone is actually trying to say.
The facts are he is unfit and constantly injured. The warning signs are flashing for me and both he and the club need to address the situation.
How utterly ridiculous to compare boxing training to footballers when our very own Jobe Watson turned his career around from it.
Please only reply if you have something intelligent to say other than having a crack with no substance.
You said you wanted to see Jay go nuts for 6 weeks like boxers do, it made no sense as footballers have to build up for 22+ weeks, boxers build up for 1 fight.
Jobe and Jay are completely different footballers and would have completely different training programs. Which of his injuries have been down to lack of fitness? He is 20, and just 20.Write him off at your peril.
You rubbish his good performance in the nab cup because he had "easy pickings" on Raph Clarke. Not many kids with 1 AFL game under there belt have any opponents that are "easy pickings"
I bet you wrote off Hird in 93 as well, a kid who was unfit and constantly injured.
Was in an identical position at the ground and he is being unfairly maligned if compared to the likes of Whitnall. Was taken aback by the size of the boy in terms of strength. Extremely excited with him and Gumbleton in the wings waiting to tear it up.Were you watching him on TV aganst the saints?
I was right in the forward pocket. He is a big lad yes, but nowhere near the Rioli, Whitnall catagory in the weight stakes.
Yep, I'd like to see him do something different because currently he's nowhere near a footballer that can go for 22 weeks. His body shape in the game against the Saints was embarrassing and I think it was Buckley who was having a laugh and said the boy is stuffed and needs a spell.
I reckon most of his injuries can be attributed to carrying extra weight. It's quite funny how the likes of Whitnall and Rioli were always injured.
Right now he's in the group with Cupido, Rioli, Whitnall and a few others who've had issues with fitness, weight and dedication.
Time will tell but if he can't string 6 VFL games together this year then I'd be seriously looking at what we do with him.

Name the injuries caused by weight then doctor kelvin?
He is contracted until the end of next year that is the faith our coaching staff have in him. I love your continued stupid comments, comparing him with rioli cupido and whitnall. This is a 20 year old kid. If you can't see any hope in this kid then you obviously know nothing about the game

Just a few facts for you.
The two stress fracture in the foot are not a weight issue.
The ankle injury yesterday was not a weight issue and from all reports is not that serious. Anyone in any weight range can roll an ankle
He has actually dropped over 8kg since the start of last season.
They didnt get him to start pre season this year until the thrid week of Jan to make sure the foot problem was 100%.
He has had stress fractures in both feet which meant wearing a moon boot for 8 weeks so it is just a little hard to get your fitness levels up when you cant do any running or cycling work.
Yes it is hugely disapointing that he has had injury problems but to say he doesn't put in on the track and he has done nothing about being overweight is completly wrong. He has actually changed his body shape a fair bit from the start of last season. Given he missed the first 6 weeks of pre season he will be a bit behind in his preperation.
Not a weight issue? Stress fractures are the result of stress on weight bearing bones. I can't see how it cannot be a factor even in a small way.
Its great that he's doing the work but he has to start playing full games. Its his third year and he is yet to string 5 games together. It looks as though he's in a never ending cycle of injured then unfit then injured again.
A lot of players have season long injuries and they don't come back looking like a bloated goldfish.
Are you saying Hird was unfit and overweight? - because I believe you just implied that.
