Our close losses have given us experience from which we can learn.
We are better equiped to handle close games because of them.

Our best is good enough to win a final. And if that happens, we can win another.
Look at what happened with the Bulldogs last year.
This year has prepared us for success if we stand up now.
Bring on West Sydney

Like the positivity, but the close losses happened in 2012 too and we ended up losing 3 EFs after that. The best way to learn how to win close games is to actually win the close games. Ain't no substitute for winning.

Having said that, we can win finals if we stop choking. We have shown that we can be very good in games against decent sides, either blowing out the margin to ~30 points early in the game or wheeling back our half time or 3 quarter time deficit to win the game. We just need to continue when we are up and play for 4 quarters.

I'm not even thinking finals yet. A loss today will see us hanging precariously to a spot in the 8. A win will give just the slightest bit of breathing room, but there's a handful of sides breathing down our necks.

This. About the only thing to go our way this weekend was Melbourne defeating Port Adelaide. I honestly don't know what to expect this weekend. Giants are out to turn their form around, I'm hoping we are to, but who knows.

Close loses happen every year to every team. Not just us. Every coach says something similir about them. We've won some and we have lost some due to various reasons but imo its because we lack some scoring power when the game is tight coinciding with the lack of another aerial threat up forward or down the line. Or bad kicking for goal which has cost us a few games.

Like the mj pic.

This and cat's losing. If we can win this, beating that cats as well would allow us to slip into 2nd just about. The ladder is open to us except top spot so it's in our power to take it.

It's be nice if we could slip into second place later on in the season, but we'd literally have to win every game from GWS today to St Kilda in Round 23. I know we've won 9 in a row before, but can we win 7 in a row?

Best way to start a finals campaign as we know from previous experience :p

Memories...not so fond memories. :(

Still the only final that absolutely devastated me. How I felt after that game is how I expect I'll feel should we lose today. :(

No such thing as a close loss. It's a narrow loss. Come on tigers, let's that this opportunity and blow away a good team on a big occasion in front of the tiger army for once :D

That guernsey was so bad that any pictures of it should be burned.

We are ready for finals NOW and need to prove it from here on in.

Another thread exposing another extension for the messiah
No it's called supporting your team and wanting them to succeed.
Perhaps a hard concept for some to grasp when all they can think about is sacking the coach. An approach that has worked so well for us over 35 years btw.

Reckon we try for 10 in a row?

It's all in the mind.

Surely the boys would go into this game thinking we had these pricks last time, a couple of stiff decisions by the umps and bad decisions by the players cost us the game. Let's play like we did last time minus the bad decisions and the scoreboard will take care of itself.

A win today is a totally achievable and realistic result.

Footy is mostly between the ears , of course you need good players as well . Just look at saints two weeks ago against us , Maddies game obviously got them up and about on an emotional level etc . Forward in last two weeks and they have been woeful .
