Yeah, we are totally getting thrashed by Premiership favoured Western Bulldogs at the moment.

Hawkins looks terrible. Ablett hasn't touched the ball. Mooney has lost all confidence. Our entire bunch of midfielders are yet to get a kick. Pods is getting killed. Varcoe is running around waving a white flag.

We should just give up.

Did I Say anything about Ablett, Varcoe or Pods not playing well
Mooney has plenty of room to improve and Hawkins has had 4 possies till three quarter time.
The good news is that Menzel, T Hunt and Laidler have played VERY well and that Bartel looks like he is OK

Kicked 8 goals between them so far tonight.

If this is directed at me I did not say that Ablett, Pods or Varcoe were not playing well. Hhawkins has had 4 possies at three quarter time, Mooney is not playing that well

The good news is that Menzel, T Hunt and Laidler have all played well and that Bartel loks like he is OK

Yeah, thats right, Ablett is not part of the midfield.

All your facts have been officially flushed down the toilet tonight.

Where they belong. :)

So I guess we can conclude we are a 123 point better team without Lonergan :D:D

Geelong has a huge challenge this year

The team is not settled, 3 talls, 2 rucks etc etc
Huge quesion marks over Hawkins, Corey, Ling, Ottens, Bartel fitness etc
Ageing list big time.
Form of players like Kelly, Chapman, Byrnes not as good as they have played in the past
Questionable game plan which has been exposed
Smashed in inside 50's, hard ball gets, centre breaks
Midfield is off the pace, we do not have the run of some other teams.
Seconds will not play finals which means no game time to players trying to get fit or abilty to find form.

We have faith that they will pull it together for the final series however alarm bells are ringing that the team has to be refreshed.
Must be new players in the side next year and we must loose some of our ageing players.

Does anything Geelong do make you happy ?
You just seem to start these whinging threads.FFS we've won 2 of the last 3 Premierships.STFU and enjoy it !!!

Is your first name Rennis ? :p

Geelong are addressing some of these ssues by giving game time to Menzel, T Hunt and Laidler.
I have a concerned that players like Corey are injury prone and that our game plan is not settled. These points have been expressed by many others. I also state that we hope the team can deliver this year even with these concerns. This is not negative but simply factual

As a supporter and member of this site I am entitled to express myself and look forward to the constructive feedback of others.
To answer your question over the last 50 years I have been following Geelong through the good times and bad many things Geelong do keep me very happy. they are a great club on and off the field
Also for your information my name is not Rennis
JubJub the tone of your blog is concerning

I'm sorry, but that is absolute rubbish. You are trying to say that Ablett, Pods, Johnson, Mooney, Varcoe, Enright, Scarlett, Hunt got a lift from the support of the newbies. Are you kidding? Its the other way around.

Menzel, T Hunt and Laidler came in for the ride and did very well. Encouraging for the future. Had they come in last week against the Woods when they were playing great and we were playing crap, those kids would have been smashed. Just like the Doggie youngsters were yesterday.

Well you have already answered my question- What future in our team do Corey and Ling have-injured, slow and predictable? These quick young additions are interesting Really liked T Hunt's game against Pies too , first game. Sounds like you'd keep them in despite their current problems/

I don't know whats going on in the medical rooms, or talks with coaching staff etc, but yeah.

Have a look at Tomahawk last week. Could hardly lift his legs. Couldn't jump. He improved 200% is 7 days. Why? Preparation.

I liked young Hunt too. But when its white hot out there in the finals I would prefer proven stronger players used to the pressure. The youngsters went into a team that was going to smash the opposition anyway. Don't get carried away.

What you say is correct.
They are not ready by any means. T Hunt looks like he is the most advanced but he still has a way to go.

I got a lift watching them as I am sure every other Geelong supporter did as it gives us an idea of what we have in reserve. It is also great to get some game time into them as you have to start sometime. If we do require their services we know they are capable of playing supporting roles at this stage. It is difficult to replace our gun players but an increased period spent in the medical rooms will force our hand at one stage or another. At least we will be better prepared.
Go cats!

I think we can attribute part of Gazza's form to the way he has been played as a switch hitter. Stick him in the guts for 90% of the game, which I think we will start doing, and watch him hit his straps.

BOING!

It's like they have said to him " when you go in the middle be more offensive, we don't want you in the back half"

And last night he seemed to be released. I finally found the old ablett smile.

Does anyone know when (or if) there is going to be a replay on any channel?(including foxtel)

If not i'll just have to download it.
There was one on ONE HD this morning. Probably another during the week.

The Western Bulldogs team we played against this weekend were the second oldest team to play with an avarage age of 26 years and 3 days. We were the oldest with an average age of 26 years and 252 days. (This was with 3 inexperienced young players involved.) We must make hay while the sun shines but it will leave a void in the future.

The team is maintaining a winning culture while trying to play the younger players. That is why it was good to see Menzel, T Hunt and Laidler gain a little experience this week.
