Thoughts on 2013/14

I want some thoughts on what everyone thinks on our chances of winning a flag in 2013 or 2014.

My thoughts, make the 8 this year would be good. Another finals campaign under our belts not expecting to go to far into the finals.

Have a really good pre season and consolidate next year with all our best back, top 4 finish.

Then have a real serious crack at a flag in 2013 or 2014.

Whats your thoughts on this??

 

[TIME IS NOW]

No doubt last year was a breakout year and we simply ran out of legs. This season was for me a chance to really show we were a contender. Unfortunately the injuries have cost us at this point in the season.

The injuries we get have been major injuries and even when players come back they need 4-6 weeks at AFL level to get cherry ripe. This season is simply a write off in terms of true contention.

Like you if we can get another finals series under our belt, maybe win a final again i truelly believe we can be a serious threat next year.

The injuries have atleast allowed us to play some fringe players and see what they are made off. Jonathon Griffin has been a stand out.

We simply havent had any luck in regards to injuries.

I think if every team was at full strength every game for whole year we woul certainly be a contender, we are top 4 quality.

To win a premiership you need depth (we are forced to develop this an our best 25-30 will be very solid in next few years). You need a gameplan and players who can back that up (We have this). You need some luck (we havent had an ounce)

Next year Top 4 an from their your a contender.

Should Mundy get back in 6 weeks or so we'll be a chance this year still.. It's foolish to write off a year 10 weeks in. We have Barlow back in next week and a host of depth coming back into the fore over the next month. Building momentum through depth towards the 2nd half of the year is the best time to do it.

12, 13 & 14 should all be part of our window.

Our list looks well positioned but so many things can change between now and then.

Personally I'd say we're in a better position in 2012 than 13/14.

That is if I can survive any more footy "Annus horribilis" (or horribilii for you scholars!)
