Agree with most here! Courier is great to listen too as is Rasheed.

Dittmar is not a great look.

I turn the sound off when Molik is on- disgraceful. Know all who cant stop her butch mouth from sounding off at every available second.

And when did a bloke named David get called Dar-Vid. My pet peeve. Griggs used to call Justine Henin -Joostin Ennar. Just call them their proper names!

Those are their "proper names", do you think they are English?

^That is actually how you pronounce their names properly.

It's just that channel 7 commentators/presenters (most of them anyway) can't make up their ****ing mind as to whether they want to pronounce the name properly, or in a consistent english translation.

SBS do it properly.

Say the name how it is meant to be pronounced in their country of origin, and ****ing stick to it.

How hard is it for someone working in the media to comprehend.

I look forward to Courier's insightful ommntary every year. I also appreciate his humor as well. As for his interviews, at least he doesn't endlessly ask rubbish questions like what it feels like to be back on centre court, etc.

Jim courier is a great commentator, gives a good opinion and has good sense of humor.

Also a big fan of Todd Woodridge, thinks he gives excellent insight into the game and his special comments are always spot on...JA on the other hand is 100% pure spud, although Courier gives it to him alot of the time, i cant help but feel he still bites his tongue alot.

I like Jim.
He's interesting, entertaining, credible, and has perspective.
He is good for tennis.

He costs 7 half what McEnroe used to, and is better to boot.

Courier is good. Quite happy with his post match interviews. Doesn’t fall into the trap of many professional interviewers where they confuse making a statement with asking a question. That sort of thing is an absolute disgrace and deserves a one word response, if that. (Actually, I think Agassi handled that sort of thing very well a few years ago.)

I thought a couple of years ago the JA/Courier thing got out of hand. I remember it started to get really pretty nasty. It was a case of “Take it outside you idiots I’m trying to watch some tennis”. Think it may have been one match in particular. I presumed that after that year, Bruce or someone sat them down and told them it was unacceptable. From what I’ve heard, the niggling hasn’t been anywhere near as bad since then.

But yeah, Courier is fine and McEnroe is the best.

to put it simply..he is a tosser....McEnroe..is much better......as for JA...isn't he the walking dead?...makes me think..other sports bring in recently retired professionals.....oh that's right we Australia havn't had anyone worthy of that title in a long long time...

JC is a dud!

Has he taken it upon himself to embarrass all the winners at some stage during the tournament? Why else would he ask Nadal why he was backing away (night one), and Federer to welcome Prince Willie to the tennis world (tonight)?

:thumbsd:

lol this thread actually helped me see the light and become a fan.

What I like about him is his enthusiasm and how he always tries to discuss something different, rather than just the obvious. He calls it as it is, but at the same time tries not to be biased (though he does cream himself over federer a bit too much for my liking, but anyway). If a player is getting thrashed, or even just losing, JC will always try to see how that player can get back into the game and exploit the winning players weaknesses. He also discusses 'non-mainstream' issues such as grass roots tennis in both australia and usa.

Big thumbs up for JC.

As for interviews, I find he generally splits the interview - half of it is asking serious questions regarding aspects of the game that weren't so darn obvious, the other half is light-hearted.

Let's keep in mind that a lot of these players don't speak very good english (certainly not like a native english speaker or a federer), so if he's going to be light-hearted, he's gotta do it at a level they can understand. Unlike some of our idiots (bloody chris dittmar) that speaks to them in such a yobbo and hard to understand manner.

The best commentator on seven.

The "best" hey?

Well yeah, that's not hard, considering the word count for each match that Courier commentates on is about 99% in his favour.

Seriously thought JA was asleep last night during the Tomic match, which was probably why I was enjoying the coverage.

JA out and I'd be happy, Courier could do it on his own with the odd input from courtside "specialists".
