Brendan Fevola; if carscum give him the arse for his latest indiscretion.

He would be a massive inclusion in our forward line. With Barry Hall agreeing to terms with the Bulldogs, and Mathew Loyd retiring, I think this would be worth a look if things get ugly down at the blooze.

Your thoughts?

Mate, Fev could chug down 18 gallons of metholated spirits, snort the entire contents of every celebreties pockets at the Logies, fornicate on stage with Stick Kernahan's wife, deficate on Demetriou's doorstep and have that dildo surgically attached to his forehead and Carlton still would not sack him.

He is their forward line and that is their culture.

Exactly!

Very funny, and quite possibly true!

But; what if..............................?

Will be shocked if hey got rid of him. They are in the business of buying premierships and giving up Fev is not going to hasten their mission.

just some food for thought...

josh fraser + pick 14 to richmond for richmond's pick 3
pick 3 + paul medhurst and another player to carlscum
we get fevola :P haha

doubt it will happen. BUT... it can't hurt in trying

Really?

You doubt that Richmond will move down 11 spots in the draft to pick up a ruckman whose knees might not ever allow him to play his best football again?

What ever made you doubt that?

If I were Hine:

Pick 14: Get best KPP available. I reckon Talia if available because we need a defender. But would love a KPF. Not sure about Panos but could be worth the punt in a weakish draft. Would not go for a ruckman here.

2nd Round pick -> Jamie Charman - Were all you people who are saying he is finished, knees are shot, too slow etc the same people who said don't get Gardiner or King????

Charman is 26. Perhaps a tad undersized at 197cm...but he's a bull and will inflict damage in September. Great backup to Wood or Fraser.

3rd Round Pick -> Daniel Harris - Another player many consider is washed up. Perhaps. But there is not much in the draft after the first round, so this is a worthwhile punt.

In the finals, it was all about size. Harris is a tough in and under. About 27 y.o so has 3 years in him. We didn't need speed against St.Kilda, we needed toughness. Harris could do SFA all year, but come in for the finals and he will be a bull. Just the sort of player you want in the clinches.

We have plenty of kids, but add 2 mature bodies like Charman and Harris and we are closer to a flag...or at worst have the best depth in the AFL.

Then, if we snagged Charman, you would have to strongly consider trading Josh. Port and Hawthorn are going to struggle to come to terms. Port need a ruckman. Would be looking to package Josh in a deal for Burgoyne. But it would also cost our first round pick and I would like 1 or 2 picks in this years draft to be kids.

Guys,
I was after your thoughts on recruiting Brendan Fevola if he was to become available.
I think we need an established Key Position Forward (FULL FORWARD) to help out the youngsters. Jack, Travis, Dawes etc.
Otherwise; we need to get as many games as we can, into Dawes and any of the other young KPF we have at the club with promising potential.
I would have Loved either of Loyd or Hall for the next couple of years playing out of the square.

Obviously if Fevola came along and wanted to play for Collingwood it would be fantastic.

But would cost us a fortune...and Fev hates Collingwood's guts anyway.

And it would all only be for 2-3 years and we'd be giving up 3 10 year prospects.

No, but if a once in a lifetime deal came along then you'd take it.

This post is an absolute classic. Made my day!
FWIW, I don't care how good he is, I wouldn't take him. We've had enough off-field problems as it is in the past and he is one guy that is just never going to change. Guys like that are a real cancer on the club.

Dave, i would prefer Shane Tuck or Coughlan than Daniel Harris.

Tuck can either fill the tagging role we desperately need or give us some much needed grunt in the midfield. My Tiger friends seem to think his only downside is his defensive running but as we know Mick is a genious at turning that around.

As for Couglan, he would play a similar role to O'Bree in helping us with clearances/stoppages. As we saw in the finals when Pendulbury went down, we have a lack of big bodied inside onballers who can dish the ball out to the likes of Swan and Davis. Beames and Steele will be good in future but they are 2 years away from competing with the big boys.

The problem with Harris is his skills are shocking. Coughlan and Tuck both have superior skills and are better players. They just need a big pre-season.

I think we could land Tuck with our 3rd round.

Agreed, Harris is a hack and is getting worse every year no thanks.
Tuck i would def look at, has been very harshly treated at Richmond and would be an upgrade on O'Bree.
Coughlan should also be looked at, Star a few years ago but with his injuries it is doubtful he would get back to that form but not impossible now hes fit and in a better team.
I would rather those two on the list pushing for spots than Corrie or Cook just biding time in the VFL until they are de-listed.

Yeah, I'm somewhat similar to Dave in that I would keep the first pick and then look in subsequent picks for bargains to upgrade on. Looks like not much quality left in terms of quality trades already being snaffled.

Keep pick one, hopefully for Talia, otherwise best available player

Pick two use for best available player

Pick three a Seaby / Charman / Jolly plus fringe player if needed, eg. Jolly

Pick four for Tuck, may need a sweetener or Richmond may keep.

May need to use pick 2 for rucks and 3rd for Tuck.
