I reckon malthouse should put chris egan in next week, and give him 3 or 4 games. Lets see if the boy can handle a bit of pressure, if he cant do it now, then its goodbye......

He just might be able to find a lilttle bit of touch, and give something to the collingwood people, when we know he has got talent!! Like Dane Swan a few years ago. He needs a boot up the a s s and maybe he can produce!!!!

I am seriously seriously against this.

That said if it where to happen the only value in it is if he plays on a half foward flank in the role DT has been playing in the foward line freeing DT to play solely in the middle. Egan played his best footy in that role and Thomas has been at his best this year in the middle.

i gets one more crack i reckon, with a few massive games for the club coming up lets see what his attitude is. i'd be more happy if he was to back into the hole in front of barry hall and get cleaned up than get 15-20 touches outside on the wing. he needs to show some grunt. there is a bloke my the name of john mccarthy who is young and raw but has a heap of grunt, can't wait to see him in the seniors, even though i hear he got injured on the weekend.

JA also played foward where he did play very well as the 2nd Tall last week in the VFL against Williamstown

Cox if fit should play as he can play forward or back and injuries are now opening some holes he can plug.

I've watched very little VFL footage but it seems his VFL form has been mediocre - might be worth trying him in a game anyway, might lift in the AFL - maybe his last chance so he deserves one last crack at it. Probablay not vs Sydney though unless Leon is still out.

I don't think he is fit enough with his knee and all.

Personally, shit form in the VFL with Egan doesn't mean anything to me in terms of his AFL potential. I've never seen him play a good VFL game, he has had some pretty good AFL games.

It's a peculiar phenomena that I think relies on the faster and more open AFL game style, which means he can have legitimate targets up the field. This actually puts less pressure on the kicker.

Wellingham actually said he found AFL obviously faster, but also in some ways easier. VFL is far scrappier, and finding a clean target is far harder.

Like I said, I think his knee is not up to it yet, but like Tarks and Daks, you can't expect full use of it first year back. I wouldn't delist him unless his attitude stunk around the Club.
