$100 says the AFL will fixture the Carlton vs Hawthorn game at the MCG next year :D

Reserved seating is not much more than normal membership.... I am a gold reserved seat holder and pay about $550. That gets me into all 18 games in Melbourne and a reserved seat when it is a Carlton home game. My seat at both the Dome and the G is on Level 1 on the wing. A small price to pay for one of the best seats in the house :thumbsu:

I didn't know this until during the year but Carlton also have an option for reserved seat holders to also reserve for the away games in Melbourne for an extra $80 a year. I'll be doing that next year as well :thumbsu:

I think you and I have the same membership.

I'm not 100% sure, but check up on where the away game seats will be. I've got a feeling they are lvl3 (td) 4 (mcg), the lower tiers of those bays / aisles whatever they're called.

And yes they are great seats, and especially good for sneaking mates in too :D

Waste of money...

These are quite good functions Walshy, once you leave high school you may have enough money to go.

Note the last line on the advertisment.

Dress: Smart Casual, (Children Welcome)

All class BG! :D:thumbsu:

ps If the AFL are gormless enough to schedule Carlton vs Haw at the Dome AGAIN next year then i suggest we inundate their switchboard with a Blue wave of disdain.

Us Hawks are with you on that one! :thumbsu:

However it won't be a problem if it's a Hawthorn home game.

That's exactly where they :thumbsu:

I've spoken to Telstra Dome twice in the last 7 days about this game

So the deal is(for GAdmin)

TD sell only a portion of the GA tickets prior to match day to account for the 16 game members of HFC and CFC members(non-reserved seat). So if you go to ticketmaster to purchase tickets with a 16 game membership of CFC non reserved seat they'll tell you to walk up on the day as your seat has already been accounted for(only TD knows how they get this number). If you have are General admin or HFC 11 game membership then you can purchase a GA ticket as you have not yet been counted. As game day occurs they count the number of 16 game HFC members and CFC members(non reserved seat) that enter the stadium and depending on trends release more GA tickets to the public or continue to hold them back.

yeah, was thinking of just standing around the bottom area, but mum needs the seat for her back

would the afl let us?

Grigga we decided this year to save money and not reserve seats for away TD games (we get entry with our memberships). We either stand at a lower level for the game or sidle up to a nice official on an aisle and ask them if they will be letting people in later. Some will say no because they're supposed to but others will tell you to hang around and they'll let you in. They do this at the G as well.

That probably won't help your mum's back but maybe they'll give her a seat out of sympathy :D

Great advice. Are you referring to the 18 game membership that I have? The only way I'm going to even bother is getting there 2 hours before the bounce and heading up to Level 3. That going to work? Otherwise it's the lounge-room and a nice cup of tea for me. :thumbsu:

Yep the only way to guarantee entry is to rock up early. Be there as the gates open at 5pm IMO. Yeah 18 game membership for CFC members 16 for HFC.

Wanted to make sure everyone is clear on the matter, not just my Hawthorn supporting friends.

Good luck gents, gonna be hard to run out on the ground for Buddy or Fev from Lvl 3 but so be it!

High ********......and thanks for the reply.
It is not fully ticketed and that wont be changed. Get there when gates open. Or you will miss out!
Umm no.......I bought my tickets.
Intelligence?:o
Did you think that maybe you miss understood what she said?
What she said
"This game is fully ticketed."
Me: "So that means I need a ticket right?"
Her: "No"
Me: "I'm sorry, I don't understand. Surely Fully ticketed means everyone needs a ticket"
Her: "If you are a club member you just turn up and swipe your card"

What she failed to recognise is that not all club members have reserved seats.
So, if you are a club member with a reserved seat you just turn up and swipe your card.
If you don't have the reserved seat, you can't buy one because they are all sold out, and you can take your chances waiting on the day, or just buy (as I have done) a GA ticket now.
Maybe its your intelligence you should be thinking of?
Miss understood.........is that the daughter of Mr Understood?
My intelligence seems fine............I think you have misunderstood my posts.:o
Your call.:thumbsu:
Is it? Thanks.
My call is there is nothing wrong with my intelligence. It is you that has made the MISS take and MISS understood my post.

She stated it was fully ticketed, and was wrong. Also she was wrong about the membership as not having a reserved seat makes you "subject to capacity.

Next time you want to come on here and throw some insults around, just be sure you are actually right ********.

Now piss off.......in the nicest possible way.:p

P.S. How was school today. Looking forward to year 10 next year?

Ahh okay then. That seems correct, though I was under the impression it was a fully ticketed match (its the Sunday match which is fully ticketed). Either way, I wouldnt screw around buying a ticket. Get there after 6pm and you will be looking at standing.

Also be aware that they will not sell any GA tickets on Gameday. They are currently selling Standing room only which are only marginally worse than the aisle seats they sold last year on that Cold Gloomy Friday night.;)

That doesnt make sense. In that case, it would be a fully ticketed match.

Telstra Dome dont want 1000 people rocking up knowing full well 90-95% wont get in.

icketing and entry entitlements

The Hawthorn Football Club would like to advise members and supporters that reserved seating on level 1 & 2 and general admission tickets are sold out for this Saturday night’s match against Carlton at Telstra Dome.
There is only limited standing room remaining for sale through Ticketmaster online or call 1300 136 122.

Hawthorn 16-game members will be able to scan their membership card through the gate for general admission entry and access to selected seating on Level 3. However, entry is subject to capacity and we advise all members to get there early (gates open at 5pm).

Hawthorn 11-game members and non-members who have not purchased a ticket to this game will not be able to scan their membership for entry or be able to purchase a ticket to gain entry. At this stage. there will be no general admission tickets available for sale on match day.

I think ticketed games need to be called out and publicized a couple of week prior to the game?

Thats not correct, surely. I would be very surprised if Telstra Dome didnt hold back X number of tickets for walk ups- its standard practice. Especially after the debacle last year. Otherwise they would have declared a fully ticketed match- no point in pissing off hundreds or thousands of people for absolutely nothing.

The phrase "at this stage" gets me though. Either there is, or there isnt. Sounds like bullshit to me.

Hey, nothing wrong with year 10. Don't stereotype us

My apologies Walshy.........didn't mean to generalise.;)

I won't say it..........but there's 4 words that should follow this quote.

ITYS.

So it looks like your options are standing, or taking your chances on the day.

I have bought Gen Admin tickets.

I assume that if I arrive late I will be standing.

The point of the thread was to alert people to the fact that the game may sell out, and that taking your chances on the day may mean going to the nearest pub and hoping its on TV.

I must say for what was a simple heads up about something that was pretty obvious, there have been some silly posts (not aiming at you here whipp......just in general).

You can lead a horse to water..............

Typical Telstra dome making extra money 1st 8 rows level 3 are reserved ( not sure if any left ) my advice is pay for a reserved seat level 3 and enjoy the game hey imagine hang gliding down from level 3 like the birdman rally did and landing on the ground be quite spectacular !!!!!!!!!!!!

Way ahead of you. :)

Most certainly. Will glide down from my loft up above level 3 and land atop Fevola's head, then proceed to do a jig. :)

For clarification, will an 11 game general admission membership ensure me entry into the ground? Will likely be there before gates open.

What I'm saying is that Telstra Dome has nothing to gain by selling the place out having not declared it a fully ticketed match. All it does is piss people off and means TD loses money through not selling reserved GA tickets. It makes sense, when you know there will be a huge crowd (but you arent sure how many) to hold back some seats and sell the shit out of standing room tickets to force a larger crowd on the day.

I simply refuse to believe there will be absolutely no seats available. Even if it is only 200-500 or so, there will be something. From my experience working there, that has always been the case.

Reserve seat games have to be declared 2-3 weeks out from the game, prior to the ground selling GA – because Ticketmaster started selling General Admission it can’t be upgraded

Apparently the AFL and Telstra Dome went to the CFC 2-3 weeks ago, asking if they could declare it a fully ticketed match meaning the 16 game and 18 game ticket holders from both clubs would have to reserve a seat like everybody else, Carlton declined and it was left as a walk up event.

If the Telstra Dome exhaust its GA allocation, it still has to leave 3,000 seats back for Carlton 18 game and Hawthorn 16 game members on the night of the event, if the Dome management is confident that the members won’t fill it, the remaining seats will be released to the public.

Really this game should have been at the MCG anyway, considering the huge attendances at this fixture in recent years, but obviously due to the circumstances it’s extremely rare that a dead rubber between 2nd and 11th will sell out the Telstra Dome.
