Ties loosened with top button open

Good evening gentlemen.

In the morning, I see an increasingly amount of people going to work with their ties loosened and their top button open.

I am wondering, do you do the same thing? Or do you do your button up with a non loosened tie? I am referring to the people who have jobs at office (etc) or going to a private school.

I tend to not loosen my tie and not open up my tie button, although slightly uncomfortable it won't make you look like a half drunk, what do you guys think?

Same I don't have a thick neck, but for some reason when the top button is done up, I feel like I'm choking.

I've already settled into a routine of top button undone at school, can't imagine actually doing the damn thing up. And I agree that ties themselves are the most ridiculous things, it pisses me off that a strip of cloth hanging from the neck somehow became so important to wear.
