Umpires get criticised all the time, but I hate how little acknowledgement they receive when they get it right.

All commentators thought it should have been a free to Lynch, but the replay showed the umpires decision was correct.

Yet there was little to no acknowledgement from the commentary team.

I don’t expect a song and dance, but if their bad calls get replayed and dissected all week, surely a “good job, that was a tough one and they got it right” wouldn’t go astray.

The game would be so much better if they had former umpires doing the Special Comments, and actually explaining umpiring decisions either during the game or at half time so people can get a better understanding of what's going on because a lot of the time the commentators seem as clueless as the people watching it.

Funny this coming from a Swans supporter! It was your team that was the first to deploy ultra defensive tactics in the modern era and led to constant rule changes by the AFL to increase scoring.

Also, if it wasn't for the AFL giving you a leg up via Academy picks, COLA etc. you would have been a bookmark long ago in AFL history just like University.
