TIM BROOMHEAD- A MAKEOVER IS NEEDED!

It has been suggested that Tim Broomhead has an unfortunate name, about which some jokes have already been made, and many more probably will be.To save Tim further embarrassment, a solution is needed, and, fortunately for him, I am able to provide one: From now on, he will be known as BEN Broomhead. That means that he will be an integral part of a sextet of jumper numbers from 25 - 30:

25 Ben Hudson
26 Ben Johnson
27 Ben Kennedy
28 Ben Sinclair
29 BEN Broomhead
30 Ben Richmond.

This will also give the Pies a consecutive Six-Peat of names, probably an AFL first. We should be quietly proud. Well done and thank you, Ben Broomhead!

Really warming to this thread. Its a tremendous idea, and I'm surprised the club didn't think of it, in their relentless pursuit of one percenters. I thought the prevalence of Danes/Daynes was holding us in good stead, but this is much better. Wondering what the collective noun is - a cluster of Bens? An outbreak of Bens? We could have a situation where Ben runs the ball out of defence, kicks it to Ben, who handballs to Ben, who then passes beautifully to Ben up forward, who then kicks a goal, and is congratulated by five other Bens. Wonderful! Cant wait to see that.

My new avatar confirms I have also been swept up in the hype around Ben Broomhead.

A few thoughts on this excellent thread:

Collingwood should strive ambitiously for 10 Bens in a row on the list so they can be known collectively as 'Ben 10'.

I am not an expert in the field but I would expect that the collective noun for Bens would be a 'brace' or 'batch' or 'bundle' or maybe even a 'battalion.'

I think CTV or Channel 9 should develop a show based etirely on the concept of a Broomhead makeover where he could be developed into a David Beckham style metrosexual. Perhaps Warnie could host it. It could build toward a feature length film titled "Bend it Like Ben Broomhead." I just can't see it failing.

I'm writing all this conscious that young Ben is yet to play one senior game and we are probably killing his career. Such is the way of karma. Personally I blame drafted hawk.
