Wouldn't mind membrey. Good sign that players want to come with us, despite some numpties claiming nobody does

Since when is there confirmation that anyone wants to go the doggies yet, let alone membrey

So far the only confirmation has been that two players want out

I never said he was coming, but at least there's talk around it.

Two vfl players want out of the dogs. And a third that finished in the vfl has already left. Could be worse.

Saints bound.

thats my mail as well. apparently we are the most likely to get the deal done and satisfy sydney accord to emma quayle

internal mail says that we are very very much into him

unconfirmed rumor of a three year deal on the table

Maybe a 2nd round pick, Swans probably to pick up some of Reid's salary?

there is no way sydney let go of reid. they need him long term to replace goodes, plus they've pumped games into him and held onto him up until now, i dont see them giving up anytime soon

It's been announced that Tim Membrey of the Swans is seeking a trade. I've seen a bit of him in the NEAFL, seems to project as a third forward tall type at AFL level, but I've often thought he plays a bit like a throwback key forward. That said, does appear to have a good tank, so hard running half forward role probably isn't out of reach...

What's he worth?

Where is he going?
He's probably worth a third round pick but the swans will want a second round at this stage he's going to the dons or dogs

Quayle could be right though, it's about appeasing Sydney. Even if membrey wants us I doubt he'd shaft Sydney. St kilda are within their rights to outbid us

Membrey has some serious talent and has had two years in Sydney improving hmself so I reckon it will be St.Kilda's third rounder which will end up about pick 41, their next pick won't be until 60 which is too far out.

Otherwise it will be the Doggies with pick 45 so ball is in St.Kilda's court if they want Membrey.

the key here is if he nominates us. if he does a 4th rounder is just as likely, given sydney will not do a pick swap. given the academy nominations

for a 4th rounder we'd be better off letting him walk to the PSD like we did with Lamb last year

You'll get at least a 3rd rounder for membrey. He was 3rd round in a strong draft and hasn't gone backwards. It's pretty obvious it's not easy getting games at Sydney when you've got Mitchell and O'Keefe running around in the 2nds.

Hope we get him. Sure he might not be exactly what were looking for but soon we will have Cramers, Membrey and Stringer getting the 3rd and 4th defenders where they can quite easily get on top of and kick a bag. They are all strong in the air (Stringer and Membrey more so than Cramers) and have quite a bit of running power (Crameri more so than the other two), will all need to spend time up the ground too. Just because they're more inbetween height and not really talls or smalls doesn't fuss me at all. Macca loves big bodies all over the ground and thats the plan, just makes the forward line more complete and well rounded if you ask me. Definitely need to get an A grade genuine tall alongside them all though, even two. Thats why were going hard at Peter Wright and I would still love the Reid/Membrey double, although maybe sounding a little unlikely at this stage. Still think our 2 second rounders is a fair deal if we can convince those two to come to us.

The value of the pick (ie whether the Swans much care about what pick they get) will depend on a) the outcome of tomorrow's academy bidding and b) whether Malceski stays or goes. It is quite possible we will only go into the draft with two or so live picks. Richards is a definite to be promoted from the rookie list (it was reported he's already signed a two year contract) and I am pretty sure Lloyd has also been contracted for next year. There are three more 2nd or 3rd year rookies that have not yet been released and who are chances to be upgraded.

If Malceski does leave for a three year $0.5m deal, which is what has been suggested, he might net an end of second round pick.

We will certainly commit our first round pick for Heeney. It remains to be seen whether any club will bid a second or third round pick for Davis or Hiscox, and if so, whether the Swans match it. I imagine they would match a third round pick or later for either, simply because those picks aren't going to be too much value with so many rookies to potentially be promoted. Even a third round pick from another club might not be worth too much. I doubt a fourth round would be worth anything. So if that is the best any club will cough up, we might as well just let him walk via the draft to whichever club he wants. If a club other than the Saints, with the first round PSD pick wants him, they might offer more. Even the Saints might want to keep their PSD pick for another player.

Who at the Dogs is going to be taking the first and second defenders, if these three getting the 3rd and 4th? Grant?

A second rounder for a player who was drafted pick 47, is uncontracted and has
played 1 game?
Yeh I don't think so.
St Kilda gave up pick 12 for Tom Lee from memory?

Don't think Membrey gets pick 12 by any means but a 2nd rounder isn't out of the question.
