Roo has been instrumental in bringing in the clowns who have destroyed the playing group, and he has been behind the arrogance that the club displays at the moment.
At some point he has to come under pressure for the part he has played in this. He provides cover for Burton and Co, and continues the jobs for boys mentality we are beset with.

Roo is a board member, not the sole decision maker. If you’re blaming Roo, then blame the whole board. I’m not trying to defend the club, we’re horrible, and we’ve made horrible decisions. But you can’t lay blame on one person.

Sure, but everyone will tell you Roo is the power behind the throne.

Needs to stick to pubs and media. Wrecked the club enough. Only got involved cause one of his mates got traded (Vince) #boysclub

I've always thought you need people in these positions who aren't concerned about offending people at the club with decisions they make. Roo is too close to most of them and I get the feeling he doesn't want to destroy relationships with them and that's why no hard decisions get made at this club.

There's no doubt this is a boys club with roo, burton,Clarke, hart etc.

Exactly, Fagan, Chapman, Burton and anyone else running the club who’s turned a season where we are meant to be contending for a flag this year into an absolute joke.

He was instrumental in getting rid of Sando, bringing in Walsh and then Pyke.

After that he has watched the trainwreck he created burn the club he loves to the ground. He is as much an issue as anyone. Burton and Hass are inept but Roo knew that before.

He's taking us for a ride.

Fagan doesn't have the expertise to make football decisions though, that's not his go. He's placed his faith in the wrong people.

Nothing will change at afc until the membership drops. While 50,000 turn up every week the same bs will continue each year. Supporters must demand change or vote with their feet if it doesnt happen. If 30,000 start turning up each week i guarantee change will finally happen in a swift manner.

Yeah I also heard we were after Goodwin in a big way.
I don’t remember the exact timeline but pretty sure the Melbourne job was there before ours and roo gave him a ring to say wait and go for our job (also known as the job is yours if you want it)

Regarding Roo: I remember people here, including me, being very happy when Roo first became involved at Board level. We were happy with his decisions to bring in Walsh and Fagan, and everything looked great. Unfortunately, things have gone downhill. Two big mistakes, possibly on Roo’s recommendation, were hiring Burton and Hart, who both failed at their previous work places. Roo would have the Club’s best interests at heart, but his friendship has blinded him to these two guys’ faults. Someone needs to stand up to him now, and move Hart and Burton on, along with some others who just can’t get the required results.

Regarding membership: I didn’t renew my m/ship this year, after being a member for 20 years. I thought someone from the Club might have been in contact, just checking why. But then I realised they have people queuing up, and couldn’t care less if members drop out. Plenty more where they came from. As a member I never felt appreciated by the Club, and think sponsors come first, with members almost being an afterthought.
