C'mon people. Let's all focus on the real villain here... tooth decay.

And Tippett, and Blucher.

What a rollercoaster. I've been contracting for the last couple of weeks, checking my phone every half an hour to see what's happening, and now I've got until Monday off, I'm just sitting on the web checking stuff out, and OMG it's like driving over the railroad tracks on Leader St next to Derringers, up down up down up down up down.

As far as I can tell:
- Sando is still overseas, so Jesse "Walter" White can't meet with him
- Jesse's GF is from here, so he's got reason to visit that doesn't mean he's on our list
- Neither club has said much in the last couple of days; the last significant thing I heard was Sheedy kicking up a stink for us

Did I miss anything meaningful, or is it all internal shit fights and rumours masquerading as gospel?

When was the last time a player was drafted to a club against his will?

The difference between Tippett, and an 18yr old going into the draft, is a nominated salary, and NOTHING more.

Many kids would prefer to stay in their state or be drafted by the club they love but it doesn't work that way, and Tippett has no more say in who drafts him than the kids do.

From a club point of view I would have thought the whole principle of the draft was to assess your needs and then draft the next best player available, and it would be acting against the interests of the club to do anything else.

If Tippett ends up in the draft I wouldn't be at all suprised if Sheedy calls a press conference and says, "I understand Kurt had a prefered club but he didn't get traded and this is the draft. Kurt is a great marking player that will be an asset to our young side, and I fully intend to pick him up." It would be AMAZING press and marketing for GWS. Vlad would love it.

And once Sheeds (or any other coach with a pick before Sydney) injects a healthy does of reality into Kurts deluded head he'll play footy with them and be well paid for the next two years, at which time he WILL be a free agent and Kurt and his dickhead manager can give their bullshit games another go.

Vader, I have asked a few questions of you so as to better understand the trade conditions. So I again want to clarify this point. If Tippett goes to the PSD and he nominates a higher wage (to try and deter other clubs from taking him) doesnt that mean that this higher salary that Tippett nominates is what Sydney would have to pay if they get a chance to select him. If this is so then given Sydneys inability to pay the big bucks for the first two years surely by Tippett putting his asking price up actually stops Sydney from picking him.
That's the way I see it. Mind you, his asking price would still be towards the upper end of the range - probably $700-800k. But given GWS & Carlton are/were both capable of meeting his $1M per year demands, I don't think they'll have any issues paying the lower rate.

No, you only become a free agent after serving 8 years at a single club. Kurt won't be eligible for free agency until the end of 2020...
