WTF?Don't worry about him, he's a tool to just about everybody at the moment.
Trade week works well for high profile players like Tippett. Deals almost always manage to get done for players of their ilk. Free Agency is all about giving mobility to the lesser lights - those players that clubs wouldn't give up anything to sign and hence rarely get traded.Whatever we get and what we do with it, has to improve our list from round 1 2013.
Not sure what the point of free agency is when it seems guys like Tippett can go wherever they want as it is. I am hoping the Sydney interest is real, if it pushes up his trade value. Not sure what they could give us, but it would have to be good. Would hate to see us get a mix of late first round/early second round and average players as has been suggested by opposition supporters.
Just noticed that Tippets the player in the image to the right of the forum.. hopefully we don't have to look at that all year.
If GWS were to pay him $1M, as Collingwood and Sydney seem likely to do, then we would be rightly screaming blue murder if the AFL didn't give us the Ablett/Scully compensation. And if I'm reading that right the AFL sets the compensation. That would ensure we get a 1st rd pick as compensation, at least equal to the compensation we received for Davis you would assume. So GC have to trade assuming GWS come to the party and threaten to pick him.
Your posts have been narky and confrontational. You're by no means alone, but seriously the guy asked a simple, troll-free question and you gave him a ridiculous response given its an Internet footy forum trade related thread.WTF?

As long as we don't meet them with "yeah we know you guys can get him in the PSD, pick 70 will have to do"..And if I'm reading that right the AFL sets the compensation. We're talking about them using a PSD pick on him..Why are we even assuming GWS would take him? If they'd wanted him, wouldn't we have known by now?
Bullshit. Who have I been narky and confrontational to? Remember you said I've been a tool to just about everyone at the moment. I have the odd testy debate but you've made it out that I'm having a crack at everyone.Your posts have been narky and confrontational. Out of curiosity, what would Adelaide demand/want from the Swans? Be realistic because obviously the buying power is held by the Swans as he is uncontracted and GC would be pushing for KT in the PSD.
Bolton is definitely a possibility to retire and in some ways Goodes is a possibility too if his knees are bust. I think the plan for the Swans would be to backload the contract massively, as space will come about when ROK, Goodes and Bolton all depart (Probably in the next two years). But I agree, it seems bizarre we have enough cap room to possibly accomodate Tippett. I guess that is the advantage of not having a real marquee player at the club who's taking up a lot of our cap.I can't realistically believe that a team who has just won the Grand Final has room in the cap to throw $1m a season at a new player. Guess Sydney isn't as expensive a place to live as the Swans would have us believe after all.

Surely they would know they can give permission to GWS to take him.. And we would get compensation on top of it..
Also meaning GC have to offer a decent trade.. Our luck would be GWS then don't use the PSD pick on Tippett and he goes somewhere else for nothing![]()
No idea how the c-bomb slid through the filter. Feel free to use it.. if you have a burning desire to score yourself a red card for a week.VADER: Please explain!!!!!
Exactly, signing Kurt would be mighty enticing for GWS, who could offload him the following year and pick up a decent trade. If we can give GWS permission to take Kurt in the PSD, and that eventuates, we wont be getting compensation for it. The thing is, we don't actually want that to happen, we just want to be able to use the threat of Kurt not getting where he wants to force GC to play ball at the trade table. Could be quite a threat too, because I severely doubt GC would like for their direct rival to be handed a player like Tippett for nothing.
I didn't think so either, I thought we would just allow them to pick him but we wouldn't get anything.. But I thought I read it somewhere up there ^^^ and it surprised me..If we can give GWS permission to take Kurt in the PSD, and that eventuates, we wont be getting compensation for it. Yep, it wouldnt be a good look if GC shafted us. Hopefully Blighty tells them to be kind to his old clubChapman needs to be on the phone to Andy D and demanding that the AFL get involved to insure we don't get shafted by one of the new Cluns - yet again; we've already given them enough good players for insufficient compensation.
Actually, we do - if GWS select him, the same as we would if they signed him as an uncontracted player (like they did with Davi$). We don't if anyone else grabs him.If we can give GWS permission to take Kurt in the PSD, and that eventuates, we wont be getting compensation for it. Why would you ask supporters? We aren't Adelaide.
.So what's to stop GWS and GCS getting their heads together so we are the only real loser??Actually, we do - if GWS select him, the same as we would if they signed him as an uncontracted player (like they did with Davi$). We don't if anyone else grabs him.
Do you really think Dimwitrou/AFL actually gives a shit about the Adelaide Club, history certainly indicates otherwise!! All he's interested in is the success of the expansion sides and pronto or it will reflect poorly on hin/AFL!!

) for Giles and a mini-draft pick, or any other low draft pick for this years draft they may end up with as a result of mini-draft bidding.
