Taken was a ripper. But two thoughts come to me reading that tweet.

1. How hard would it have been to slightly alter the tweet: "I will find you and I will recruit you."
2. Taken 2 really really worries me.. I want to see it because the first was so good.. but it seems to be one of the most 'set for failure' sequels ever.

Yeah, i agree the Clark trade is the most comparable, I just thought I'd highlight the points of difference as I see it. It will be interesting to see how GC handle this trade (assuming thats where KT wants to go). Do they establish a Sydney-esque reputation with their 1st big trade, or do they play hardball figuring that the rest of the comp will be trying to pilfer some of their talent soon anyway.

This is a good point....if the GC try and low ball the Crows on Tippett then good luck trying to get fair value when the shoe is on the other foot down the road.

One place karma does apply is at the trade table.

Agree with this and I think Ashcroft has been around long ehough to know it, (we dont want a rep like Essendons) I am sure you will be compensated whether it is from us or the Swans, I am starting to hope its the Swans, KT seems like a d*** or is getting bad advice.

Why would Collingwood want to do that, having signed Q. Lynch to take Dawes' position as well as re-signing Cloke? Their forward line would appear to be full already.

Also the Dawes/Wellingham trade appears likely to involve pick #13, not pick #4.

Free agency is fine, but why leave trade period as it is? That's what's bugging me. Tippett isn't a free agent, yet he's going to come out of this better than Goddard (who is a better player) and we could end up with worse compensation (or none for that matter).

Honestly guys, if we think we're going to get pick 6 and a 2nd rounder for tippett (or close to that) its just wishful thinking IMO.

the ABSOLUTE BEST we will get for him (IMO) is pick 8. nothing else. just pick 8.

Yes, i am fully aware he is worth more than that. I think we deserve more than that. I would love more than that.

I think we all just need to understand that due to the fact that we are effectively being bent over a barrel we will not be receiving more than that.

How are we being bent over a barrel. He's got at least 2 suitors and a few more may emerge so its far from over.

Why aren't Collingwood, or even Port for that matter, ever bent over. Its a mindset. Negotiation is about hanging tough and bluff/counter bluff, not caving in at the first demand for expediency like we seem to do (Carey, Gunston, Tambling, Hudson, even Griffin).

Having said that, this Sydney thing started as a ploy to get more money from GCS who don't want to pay Tippett what he wants. We should similarly use it to get more out of the Suns like he's trying to do.

Yea, I agree - I'm both excited and filled with trepidation for Taken2; it could suck, hard.
