SEN reporting Brisbane thinking Sydney are favourites. If we lose him to Sydney they have to scrap that extra salary cap for Sydney. Sydney is now a recognised strong club and has no problem attracting players, plus the city itself is an attraction enough.

Yeah I agree, I suspect this will the an undercurrent in the media and football community if Tippett eventuates in Sydney.

I think I read somewhere its an extra 7.5% to their salary cap? Makes it about an extra 600k or so than any other club (obviously not GC and GWS at the moment). Are these the only 3 clubs with salary concessions that is known?

On a side note, on twitter Rob Lucas has been giving Rucci shit about his error regarding the PSD. Rucci is such a moo, "AFL revisited" is Rucci speak for I got it wrong but wont admit it.

I'm not sure that Rucci was the first to comment on this being a potential issue, but he still should have known better. Where Rucci has totally lost the plot is in the article regarding the "gentlemen's agreement", it's pure fiction.

Unless Sydney give us an offer we can't refuse, then we should drag it out for the full three weeks and let Kurt + Brisbane/GC get desperate. If Kurt can't get Sydney then he'll need a fallback, and by that stage I'm guessing anywhere in Queensland will look appealing...

Yep, for 2013, GWS have 1 mill extra, GC $600,000 extra and Swans 7% extra (about $640,000).

Brisbane national talent manager Rob Kerr admitted the Lions had ``most of our eggs in the Kurt Tippett basket’’ and the club was waiting on a response from the forward.

Sydney, Gold Coast and a Melbourne based club are also believed to be in the hunt to lure Tippett, who requested a trade from the Crows earlier this week.

We'll know where we stand...assuming we know that he wants Sydney of course. When push comes to shove, he'll take Brisbane/GC if he has to, and they'll have to come up with a deal to get him there. It's trade week, all about who blinks first...

Brisbane are higher than Gold Coast and he still gets to live in QLD and he knows a deal can be done
Gold Coast, if they don't pay him what his lordship thinks he is worth, why would he sign?

It's no secret you have anger issues with players indecisions in the past

I still reckon its his manager pulling the strings for this...there was a comment I think from Rob Kerr a day or 2 ago from the Lions saying something along the lines of "we are respecting Kurt's wishes and trying to work through with his management and the correct channels"

It's been the most obvious deal available in my eyes.

Going rate for top tier players sems to be a top 10 and a mid first. Polec is a top 10, and our first would downgrade your pick 8 to a mid first. Maybe you guys throw in a 2nd, or a swap of 2nd and 3rd, but if he wants to go to QLD (still think this is the only thing that was ever on his mind), then I believe this makes a lot of sense.

Sydney have nothing to give us. GC would probably take a chance at PSD.
