Trade period goes for 3 weeks. For the sake of my sanity, and my university studies, I hope this deal is done early!

Its going to be such a frustrating time. He's already screwed us over, now we have his manager talking crap. God I hope we get some good compensation. If we have crap negotiations with the Swans, stuff em and lets deal with GC or Brisbane. If they want no deal with us, its off the PSD you go Kurt.

If I hear Jesse Whites name one more time, I might explode.

It's not that we wouldn't deal with you, it's more the fact that Tippett and his managers credibility is lower than Julia's approval rating

I can't see anyone talking to this snake............... Blutcher not Julia

Sorry guys I really cbf looking through 120 pages to find an answer but has he fallen out with someone at the club? Why does he want to leave a tight-knit group thats going to be pushing for a flag next year?

Sydney are going to be very dangerous if they get him.

Not that we know of. It just seems as though Kurt is a mercenary of the highest order. To cry homesickness for two years, and then head back home is one thing. To cry homesickness and then head to the highest bidder in different state is another thing altogether.

I'm not sure why anyone is angry if he went to gold coast we had zero bargaining power this is the best option to get something back. I don't mind his motivations either - money & success - a player only gets a short time in the game may as well make the most of it, maybe if we were managed like sydney we could nab a big name once in a while.

You mean maybe if our list managers had an extra $800,000 to play with?

Just one year where we dont have a big name player leaving, so we dont have to deal with these other club supporters coming in and insulting us for wanting anyone of value. Just one year. So sick of the same shit, different set of smug jackasses.

Totally agree, STO.

Going by some of the posts to date, we just might have hit rock bottom in this area this year. :(

Hopefully we can have a year next year where there are no departures so we can recharge our batteries for the next wave of fkwits.

I have a few thoughts on this whole Tippett Saga.

1. On Tippett

Since he brought out the video last year saying he was a beach boy at heart, can anyone point me in the direction of a single communication from Tippett where he has stated, suggested or anything like that suggesting that he is homesick? I can't remember anything of the sort, apart from BF posters suggesting it as a possibility.

Up until the concussions, it appeared to me his heart was in it at the Crows, wanted to play for us, has great relationships with his team mates, especially Tex. After the concussions, things changed. His attitude on the field was disturbing to say the least. Lack of interest. I wonder whether he picked up for the Hawks game as he realised there was a shot at a premiership at stake. Even up until this point, I was non-committal on whether I thought he would leave or stay, changed my mind every day. Up until this point, I didn't have a problem with the way he was acting, just concerned about his on field attitude.

What has really upset me is that he didn't have the guts to front up to his team mates, his coaches, the AFC, his fans, and the media. If he had sat down with his mates, and in front of the media, and told us how he felt, why he was leaving, I wouldn't have such deep seated anger over his leaving. Even now, I would prefer to have him stay at the AFC than leave, due to what his best brings to the club. But it's the crap text to his mates, the press release to the AFL, not even to the AFC, about his intentions that really pisses me off.

If Kurt had come out today and said, "I would prefer to move to Sydney, but I understand that if a deal cannot be done, then I will also be happy to move to Brisbane", he could have saved a lot of face in my eyes. Truly, this situation is solely about Kurt.

2. On AFGM

I love his desire to put out there what he believed was true.

It could even be that what he knew to be true, at the time of his stating, was actually true. Gentleman's agreement, contract signed by Kurt and GCS last year, date of announcement, going to the GCS. The contract may have existed, but reneged by both parties, as GCS didn't want to offer him as much money, and Kurt was happy to go elsewhere for the money.

I for one hope AFGM gets his pride and swallows it and comes back under a new avatar. His comments were always either insightful or LOL worthy.

3. On Sydney

As has been mentioned by a few posters already, there is no need for AFC BF posters to take out frustrations on SS BF posters. It's not their fault Kurt chose them, Sydney merely were the highest bidders.

Of course rubbish posts like "Straight swap for Jesse White" are merely that, rubbish.

My concern is that Sydney don't have anything which could be traded to anyone, let alone to the Crows. I can't see how they will be able to come up with good enough draft picks without trading someone who wants to be traded. I believe this is what the Sydney players will be upset about most. Something like, "We understand getting a player like Kurt will be great, but don't go offering any of us around to other teams, as there are none of us who wants to leave." Without even mentioning the fact that some may be disconcerted that they will get less of the salary cut for giving their all in a premiership season.

The other problem (also already discussed by a few posters) is how will they be able to pay JJK (?) what he should be paid as B&F, and their number one most important player for the future, if they pay Kurt ~$800k for 4 years?

I honestly don't thin Kurt will play for the Swans next year.

4. My Conspiracy theory time/suggestion to Triggy, Noble and Co.

Kurt is happy to go to Sydney, yeah? How much do you think GWS has in their salary cap? Again as has been suggested previously, Triggy, talk to GWS, and see whether we can get them to pick up Kurt as an un-contracted player and use the compensation pick to trade back to GWS to get a spot in the mini draft.

Look I know this wont happen, but I can dream right?

5. What I think will happen

Brisbane? I think Kurt has lost the opportunity to go there, where he would have got more money than going to GCS (Boo hoo poor $Kirt). Brisbane will go for Clint Young, and Brent Moloney, who will, in all honesty, be much better for them than Kurt. This also sucks for us, as Brisbane were the most likely to give as adequate compensation. The only hope we have of Bris still being in the game, is the Swans players convincing the Swans board to not bring in Kurt, Sydney withdrawing their interest, and suddenly Brisbane is back in with a chance. A long shot, but still quite possible.

GCS? I think Kurt may end up playing for GCS next year. Whether we get any compensation depends on how long it takes for us and the Swans to say "A deal cannot be reached".

I know a lot of people are looking at this scenario and thinking we will make out like bandits, but I really think we will lose Kurt for nothing in the PSD.

A lot of clubs are going to baulk at taking him because of the childish way he has acted. Lack of loyalty, lack of respect for the club, lack of respect for anyone, other than himself.

Oh and sorry for length of the post...

I think that's why people are mad, he already had both at the Crows

If we send Kurt to the Swans and secure modest return, the net result is the AFC moving a great deal further away from the premiership. It's not your typical trade situation. Given they are one of our nearest rivals, we must either arrive at a deal where we don't lose any ground to them, or where we gain ground on them. Three way trade for a very good player who addresses a need, or Tippett goes to the GWS for nothing. The only viable outcomes.

Have a spine this time Adelaide.

I'm just as annoyed as you guys and whatever the case, the supporters on one side are going to be pissed if a deal eventuates.

While the Swans need a KPF, Tippett isn't their answer and it's obvious we are offering him way too much. It's a joke and this has really put a dent in my celebrations. I understand the talk of you guys getting a Jetta or Kennedy given our offer. If this happened, I would throw up.

And you would have every right to throw up. We, however, would be grinning like this :D

And thankyou for the appropriateness of the post rather than the other poo like "Jetta? keep dreaming!" rubbish we've been getting.

Pyro he was injured most of the year mate, from all accounts they finished his year early to get his body right
Alright. Didn't really follow him closely this season as you can see. What was wrong with him just out of interest?

If we weren't offering Tippett so much, then it's more a like-for-like swap. Swans have bitten off more than they can chew now :(
Maybe like for like in terms of positions they play, but a long way from the effectiveness of how well they play the position.

True to an extent. Jesse had/has(?) so much potential and I was really looking forward to seeing him develop into a key forward for us.
