had knee issues preseason that flared again and an ankle aswell from memory, only played about 6 in the ressies playing about 3qtrs but was still a ball magnet like his junior daysAlright. Didn't really follow him closely this season as you can see. What was wrong with him just out of interest?
There could have been a written contract between Tippett & GC. This was AFGM's assertion for well over a month. It's pretty damn obvious now that no such contract exists. My interpretation is that there could have been a written contract between Tippett & GC (signed during that loophole period last year),
and a separate "gentleman's agreement" between Tippett & the Crows (agreement made at the time of his last contract extension).
I think that is all in line with what AFGM has stated.
It would appear that it was a verbal contract - and like all verbal contracts, they're not worth the paper that they're written on. More to the point, the Crows have a strong case to argue that Tippett & his manager voided the agreement by their actions (or inactions) over the last 2 weeks. What i dont understand, however, are the legal (if any) or other ramifications if the Crows do not adhere to that gentleman's agreement and therefore how binding is it?
OK, so let's extrapolate on those first 12 games, which weren't affected by concussion. After 11 rounds he had 38 votes (your figures). That's an average of 3.17 per game. Extrapolate that out to 25 games and we predict him finishing on 79.2 votes. That would rank him 4th, though it's fair to say that Walker has a higher vote per game rate (but was rubbed out for 5 weeks by the MRP and sat out R23 for good measure). Call it 5th.Concussion 1 was against North Melbourne in Round 13. He ran out the next week to play against Richmond, was well enough to kick 3 goals, take 6 grabs and get 2 votes in the B+F.
...
Extrapolating based on 12 concussion affected games is simply wrong. Extrapolating Tippett's season as being better than Tex's is very dubious.
Swans' board is throwing up Grundy as a suggestion.
The "gentlemen's agreement", from what Trigg & Harper have said, was that Adelaide would do what they could to make Tippett's move home to GC as easy as possible. They've quite rightly said that they won't be abiding by it, given the way that he & his management have screwed the club around over the last 2 weeks.

Further to this, up to rd 12 he had 25 goals. Had him on track for 50 goals....

No shortage of beaches to go surfing in Sydney. There are some nice beaches in NSW.

We were offering him pretty similar to Sydney, Bris and GC.Verbal contracts are just as binding as written ones, especially if multiple parties know the terms.
It wont be deemed as a contract though, because I don't think there was any consideration which doesn't make it a legal or binding contract. As far as I have heard there was just an understanding that after his contract expired if he wanted to go home then the Crows would make it an easy transition.
If they felt it was going to be a sticking point, they would have put it into his contract.
I can understand him wanting to go home. I just don't get what is going on with him wanting to go to a Melbourne club or Sydney. Why is he that adamant about leaving the Crows? Was the money that bad that you guys were offering?
It won't get that far. But assuming it did, Tippett would specify a salary as part of the conditions when nominating for the draft. By drafting him, GWS (or anyone else who drafts him) would implicitly be agreeing to meet those salary demands. If he goes to gws in the PSD what do they have to pay him?

The official line is something like, he didnt like the media and fan attention he was getting, especially after the concussions, with every man and his dog in Adelaide asking him how is head was, and when he would be signing a contract.
Piss weak basically.
Why? Roughead is a massive upgrade on any (or all) of those 3. I'd happily trade all of those 3 plus our 2nd round pick if it meant getting our hands on Roughead. Please no roughead either.
Give Johnstone Jenkins and McKernan a crack.
No way Hawks would get rid of him either
I guess he wont have to worry too much about being hassled in Sydney, not as much as a footy made city I guess.
It sounds like a worry though, it seems like a pretty poor reason to want to pack and leave.
Can't see it happening.Tippett + pick 20 for Kennedy + Swans second rounder?
I really want to see people stop saying the phrase "cant see it happening"
Did any of us think up until last week he would play in a Swans jumper?
Anythings possible and $$ talks, BS walks.
Kurt tipped by swift Swans
"In late August when we agreed with Adelaide that we would put the talks off until the end of the season, a couple of days thereafter I had a call from Andrew Ireland … saying that they would certainly be in the mix and keen to talk if he decided to leave Adelaide," Tippett's manager Peter Blucher said on Melbourne radio station SEN on Saturday.
"Obviously he made that decision and I've got to tell you it was a very, very hard decision in itself … it's very hard to look in the eyes of teammates who you've just played a preliminary final with - they were a whisker away from playing in a Grand Final - and say, 'I'm leaving'.
