Not if we get a very good deal.

But as Faith has indicated, it doesn't seem we are that way inclined which sucks.

But the way the Swans Board is turning we won't get a fair deal. I can't see it happening at all if its any indication. So tactically I'd withdraw from the Swans deal and either make him renegotiate with Brisbane or the Gold Coast or play the PSD lottery. Lot to be said for sending the message - we do it all the time in the workplace - makes people behave. :)

All I suggested was that he's a name that might be involved. No need to overreact and pretend I was proposing a straight swap. Definitely worth watching some footage from the 2nd half of his year before suggesting he is a hack

I never suggested he is a hack, just pointing out he has a career total of 0 games.

No. Read the article again. There is no confirmation there is a clause in his contract. It is, quote "an understanding between the parties". Trigg said the other day since he isn't going home the "understanding" is void.
And don't forget this bit "Swans chief executive Andrew Ireland told The Sunday Age the deal between Tippett and the Crows was an understanding and not contractually binding. But he did not know what the Crows would ask for".
So again nothing contractually binding.

I reckon Bulcher is going around telling all the journos he can that there was an agreement etc etc so to try and pressure the crows into sticking to this gentleman's agreement...I swear to god if the Crows give in to this bullshit I'll stop following them and AFL altogether. I also follow the NFL and I'll stick to that because the AFL and the Crows are fast becoming a joke and I don't need this bullshit in my life. I'm so passionate about the Crows but this passion constantly leaves me heartbroken and I just can't take it. Bulcher's been talking to www.news.com.au

The headline of the story is Swans set for steal of the century or something like that...and the article goes on to say that Tippett will be traded for pick 42 in the draft...no ifs or buts....done deal

It would just be nice to hear Triggy or Harper come out and say... there is no ****ing clause, we will get the best possible deal done (has anyone from the AFC done this? Did I miss it?) Until I hear that, all the press stuff regarding us only getting a round 2 pick is making me nervous. I'm feeling fragile...

Totally unrelated, and quite selfish but...All the best guys at AFC. I'm intoxicated but hope it works out for you with this deal...I'm out of here now that the Suns are not apart of it.

you'll be back. this threads like a car crash. you cant help but look!

It isn't.

BULCHER is an absolute c*** and if he ever steps foot in Adelaide again I reckon someone will knock the C***
Blutcher hasn't done anyone any favours.

If the Crows are close to choosing a player managed by Blutcher & another player managed by someone else, I reckon I know which player they will pick.

It's believed the Crows offered $800,000-a-season for Tippett to remain in Adelaide, while Brisbane ($750,000) and the Gold Coast's ($700,000) weren't close to matching the Swans' deal.
"Mummy says I'm good at jigsaw puzzles :)"

Settle petal... I'm fairly sure I remember Trigg or Harper saying we will get the best possible deal - and there was no bl**dy clause - the man who wrote the contract, John Reid has said so publicly.

yeah they have, a number of times. the most recent i know of being a quote from Trigg while holdaying in Paris.
cant be arsed finding the article, but we have categorically denied a clause exists.

actually i dont think it's THAT bad...... i'd entertain Grundy and 22*. i dont know much about TDL but we may be better off without him on the list.

*i think we can do better than grundy and 22

Grundy's value is probably in the range of pick 20-25. Picks 20 + 22 would be like trading for two second round draft picks. Not worth entertaining.

I will lose my proverbial shit if adelaide trade curti$ for anything below par value to sydney -heck, i would be highly annoyed if adelaide dont even try to get above par. We will be simply shooting ourselves in the foot if we trade tippet for unders, as one of our key rivals for next yrs premiership will double their leg up on us theoretically if they get pinnochio for unders. Use abit of nous and skullduggery with this adelaide, if sydney try to come out and be all white-people gangster on us and try and play hardball, send the goose straight to the psd. I don't care if he ends up at gc- id rather us slip in an extra 50k to them to ensure they can foot his bill and pick him up, so that at least sydney do not gain anything in the premiership race. Yes, we may lose tippet and gain nothing, but i believe we have apt replacements in jerka and johnston waiting to prove themselves. It would have been playing in the back of their minds all year how unlikely it was to get a kpf gig in the crows side with tex and gimpett dominating headlines - both were undroppable. Now with the lagging mutt gone, i expect there to be a huge fire in the bellies of jerka and lewis to cement their position in the forward line. Thus, Mr.$'s departure could actually lead to the fast tracked development of a key forward who won't simply dominate a bunch of teenagers and minnows/spuds 4 times a yr, but become a power forawrd with consistent output who Actually warrants hype and a paycheck. Moral of the story, the recruiting board should NOT let Juda$ go to the swans without us getting at least par value back .

Luckily, the fans, especially those that are not particularly bright, have no idea how teams value players. All the fans would like to give you shitty quantity for a quality player or pick. It doesn't work that way.

If Tippett goes to Sydney (and I think he will), he will be their highest paid player and most definitely in their top 5 players at the club. At 25, he is entering his prime. Take all of these factors into consideration and the formula is simple. To get quality, you have to give quality and expect Sydney to give up on one of their top 5 players to get this over the line.

You don't head hunt someone, offer them $1 million per season for 4 years without willing to play ball in trade period. It just does not happen. Swans muppets in this thread can talk all they like but the bottom line is they will have to give up something really good to get this thing done. They won't walk away from this because it will damage their reputations as a club when it comes to recruiting. You don't make such a serious play for someone only to pull out of it at the end because you didn't think through what you needed to pay for the player.

i agree, then disagree.

grundy may be worth that in terms of players for picks. but i dont see any reason that the AFC would be shopping for draft picks.

we need a player that can come in now and make us better. grundy could do that. pick 25 could not.

I'd agree with that. Trigg has already responded to that and all the AFC can do is get the best possible deal. Lets also hope the club can persuade, with the extra cash, 1 or 2 players to come across. We may not get the best we hope for in the Tippett trade but we may be able to steal someone else with the extra cash, if not this year maybe next.
No matter what happens don't jump ship, we'll be better off without that knobhead.

Sydney has last pick in the PSD, so better come up with a fair trade deal if they are serious about trading for Tippett.

That means giving up a quality player (not the fringe players mentioned) either to AFC or another club.

Otherwise off to the PSD for Kurt.

Thanks for that... I can return to my knitting now...

Look, I just finished carding several Swans posters for suggestions not much more ludicrous than this one. For some reason I'm going to go easy on you.

All opposition supporters, take note. Please don't come on here and offer these kinds of "quantity = quality" trade suggestions.

who the f*** is trent dennis lane?

Geez guys. There is no legal obligation on the Crows to deal with Syndey at all. Settle down. They will pay or they wont get. Simple. Its more likely Sydney wont get Tippet at all, and end up losing their salary cap concession than us getting pick 42.

There are a few Swans supporters (not all BTW) who don't want to give up any quality players for Kurt, so we are getting the usual offering of dregs. Fortunately club traders on both sides aren't as stupid!
